Just about every song Jerry Lee touched is the best version there is. He could project so much feeling with those songs - more than any other Country singer, Hank Williams, Hank Thomson, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, you name him or her. Not one of them packs the same emotional punch as Jerry Lee. Ray Charles, admittedly, did it on his occasional forays into the Country field, but he's the only other one with such an emotional punch.

Aye, I should've got that association. My only excuse is that the funerals I go to are all in the Church of Scotland, which is Presbyterian, or the crematorium, and neither of them have candles. I suppose I could throw in old age as an extra excuse! 😉

The Killer slows, reminisces...the video fits the lyrics...ther are some of them I remember from the late 1940s; as a boy, my parents would take me (no such thing as a Mother leaving her child with a teenage girl back then) along with them as they wentto hear these raw, unamplified voices and acoustic instruments in those small town music halls. I'm way past 70 now. Ain't it funny how time slips away.

Elvis was a figment of col parkers marketing, he was not the king of any music jandra. Jerry Lee lewis on the other hand was pure unmarketed and manipulated talent, hence the reason he is the real king!

Elvis was a great singer. Unfortunately he was too pliable a character in the hands of Parker. With his earnings he could and should have insisted on doing things he wanted to the way he wanted to instead of letting Parker dictate everything. Great though her was, Elvis never realised his full potential, getting stuck in one safe groove by Col.Parker who was making his own fortune out of Elvis.
