Level 42 - Leaving Me Now Lyrics
It seems true love is so rare
Seems all I've known is deceit
Your laughter fills the air
Once more I'm sensing defeat
I was so sure, now I'm so full of doubt
And I suppose you'll be leaving this place
Just like the smile you've wiped from my face
This time
I always gave my best
Your memory serves you so badly
Some people kill for less
Yet I'd still die for you gladly (so gladly)
To play a scene that's familiar somehow
I turn the page and you walk away
Not even love could bring you to stay
This time
Walk away, it's so easy
Once more I'm learning
In the depths of my despair
Your lies confirming
True love is so rare
And I suppose it's my turn now
There's no more love, only feelings of doubt
Gone with the hope your words have erased
Gone with the smile you wiped from my face
Love is a ship we all hope to steer
Through troubled times, 'cross an ocean of tears
A midnight sea that swells in your eyes
Takes just one look to know I'm still mesmerised
But I suppose you're leaving me now
I was so sure, now I'm so full of doubt
I turn the page and you walk away
Not even love could bring you to stay
This time
Leaving me now
Leaving this place

Um clássico dos anos 80

mmmmmmuitoooooo💕💕💕💕👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Boa noite, as músicas dos anos 80 e 90 foram as melhores e não teremos mais músicas desta qualidade
Should have played this at the end of S1 "You"
80's what an era for music compared to the rubbish churned out these days, when musicians played their instruments, any wonder they are still playing these hits to crowds to this day, most of the modern day drivel will be forgotten in 5 years or less, delighted to have grown up in the 80's and have great memories!!
I remember "Finishing" with my girlfriend of 3 years at her parents home back in 87. I walked out of the house pretty upset and got in the car and as the ignition went on....so did this ! And that is my memory of this most brilliant Level 42 song. Sadly we never got back together and even more sadly she is not with us anymore.

Philip Halpenny So sorry. 💔
105 thumbs down why ? Its a classic
The 80’s have come & gone, but so have the 90’s, & now two decades into a new century. I now have more years behind me than ahead of me, so I have plenty of memories to reflect upon. The 80’s had everything for me, it was my golden age. I wish I could revisit for one night when everyone I loved were together & having a great time. I’d get a chance to say the things I wish I’d said back then, but the reality is I can’t. I can only relive it through memories & music like this.
"A midnight sea that swells in your eyes/Takes just one look to know I'm still mesmerized..."
God, how I miss writing like that in today's music.
There best song a truly brilliant group .
The black bird flys off
Mark King has such subtly powerful, yet bittersweet notes and keys that he sings in. It's the epitome of the 80s
