warped tour 1999. I had heard they never used a setlist so during hours-long drive to the tour, i crudely constructed a sign to request this song. In big black letters it just said AL'S WAR. Fought my way all the way to the front where i just was a total jerk and kept waving the sign around the whole set. About 3/4 through the set, i was assured by the band they'd play the song. Last song, they then PULLED ME UP ON THE STAGE to sing and dance along and it was amazing. One of their hype dudes even took my disposable camera and got an epic shot of me with the whole warped crowd behind me, and they gave me a VHS copy of "All My Best Friends are Metalheads" music video. Capped the whole 3 min ordeal off with a mandatory stage dive and here i am 19 years later telling of my experience in a youtube comment. Life is wild.

But it's not a bad thing if like you decide to settle down in your hometown because you actually want to be there. I know, shit costs money and that makes it hard, but dont live your life half fulfilled

no, ur right, LTJ's lyrics have always been very deep. I remember my mom throwing out Losing Streak cos the cursing, I had to buy it again and listen to it before she got home from work everyday lol ... She never heard any of the lyrics except the profanity... too bad for her... Love this track; just hearing the opening cymbal crashes and guitar chords sends me into a goose-pimpled shudder of melancholic nostalgia.

I liked how the last track ended on such a downer. The protagonist doesn't always triumph. It's a cruel life and not everyone conker's their demons

This song is one of the reasons I love Less Than Jake. So much fucking real human emotion that very few other artists will ever touch on! They've got enough to balls to sing about the moments when life throws you a gutter ball and it isn't everything you thought it would be. Or it could be I'm just too buzzed and looking too deep into it, I doubt it though!

Dude, when I was 7 my brother showed me LTJ and Streetlight manifesto. Im 17 now and I still think they are the greatest bands I listen to. They have helped me so much in life. Thanks you for reminding me of this.

I love this song. I've been a LTJ fan for a couple years now I guess, and they really hold a special place with me, for introducing me to Ska music. Listening to the older songs by then really gets to me sometimes.
