Les Miserables Cast - Epilogue Lyrics

Monsieur, I bless your name

I am ready Fantine!

Monsieur, lay down your burden

At the end of my days

You’ve raised my child in love

She’s the best of my life

And you will be with God

Papa, papa, I do not understand
Are you all right?
Why did you go away

Cosette, my child
Am I forgiven now?
Thank God, thank God
I’ve lived to see this day

It’s you who must forgive a thoughtless fool
It’s you who must forgive a thankless man
It’s thanks to you that I am living
And again I lay down my life at your feet
Cosette, your father is a saint
When they wounded me
He took me from the barricade
Carried like a babe
And brought me home
To you

Now you are here
Again beside me
Now I can die in peace
For now my life is blessed

You will live, Papa, you're going to live
It's too soon, too soon to say goodbye!

Yes, Cosette, forbid me now to die
I'll obey
I will try.

On this page
I write my last confession
Read it well when I, at last, am sleeping
It's the story
Of one who turned from hating
A man who only learned to love
When you were in his keeping.

Come with me
Where chains will never bind you
(Oh, I'm ready, Fantine.)
All your grief
At last, at last behind you
Lord in Heaven
Look down on him in mercy.

Forgive me all my trespasses
And take me to your glory.

Take my hand
I'll lead you to salvation
Take my love
For love is everlasting
And remember
The truth that once was spoken
To love another person
Is to see the face of God.

Do you hear the people sing
Lost in the valley of the night?
It is the music of a people
Who are climbing to the light.

For the wretched of the earth
There is a flame that never dies.
Even the darkest night will end
And the sun will rise.

They will live again in freedom
In the garden of the Lord.
We will walk behind the ploughshare;
We will put away the sword.
The chain will be broken
And all men will have their reward.

Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Somewhere beyond the barricade
Is there a world you long to see?
Do you hear the people sing?
Say, do you hear the distant drums?
It is the future that they bring
When tomorrow comes!

Will you join in our crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Somewhere beyond the barricade
Is there a world you long to see?
Do you hear the people sing?
Say, do you hear the distant drums?
It is the future that they bring
When tomorrow comes!

Ah!
Ah!
Ah!
Tomorrow comes!

Im in this play and my director constantly cries during rehearsals 🤣 she literally sobbed THIRD REHEARSAL 🤣🤣

  3. T.... ....

The On My Own tune just made me cry even harder 'cause I remembered Eponine's death.

  4. S.... T....

    My throat hurts...

  7. B.... R....

For a guy dragged to see this film in the theater, the ending caused me much consternation. As the house lights come on and people begin to leave, I have to look down and avert the eyes of those around me, lest they discover that I have been bawling silently like a child for the past 10 minutes.

  8. M.... ....

Man the way Anne Hathaway sings this is just heavenly. She absolutely kills it. It makes me cry as soon as she enters. She is amazing

  9. L.... ....

The priest was played by the original actor for Valjean on Broadway, so it was a touching role to give him in this film

  10. D.... S....

I wish javert in a white and gold version of his black and silver "suicide costume" would have walked up to jean and put a hand on his shoulder, like he was apologizing for the years of trouble he put Jean through

    D.... S....

Dawson Seiders I expected him to pop up in his rebel clothing.

  11. I.... S....

😂😂😂😂😣😣😣😢😢😢😭😭😭😭 viva le france... viva le liberte

  13. S.... B....

This scene, is the only movie scene that ever made me cry.

  14. D.... M....

When I was Valjean in this production, this scene ALWAYS got me. It was a very beautiful and heartbreaking scene. But so stunning.

  15. S.... L....

The perfect way to end this film

  16. A.... L....

In this scene when Anne starts singing it makes me tear up. Her voice with the orchestra in the background is so perfect I’m just so in love with it.

  17. g.... y....

I was crying. After reading the comments section, I'm laughing. So hard.

  18. m.... t....

    Logan...

  19. A.... R....

I always get goosebumps when it gets to the group performance

  20. J.... T....

"On this page i write my last confesion, read it well while i'm at last sleeping
It's the story of one who turn from hating, a man who only learn to love when you were in his keepin"
    THE FEELS
"Come with me where chains will never bind you... all your grief, at last, at last behind you"
    Kill me already :c

  21. l.... m....

Il a pris soin de sa fille, elle vient le chercher et le rassurer. C'est beau . ''To love another person is to see the face of god'' c'est vrai.

  22. N.... T....

where was javert in this song?

  23. I.... I....

I swear to god this scene sucks the water from my tear ducts

  24. 1.... ....

I can't quite tell; is that Gavroche to the right of Eponine? If it is, that'd be super sweet; little brother and big sister reunited in the afterlife.

  25. f.... i....

    The eternal revolution

  26. S.... ....

    I cry at the end.

  27. P.... M....

I'm pretty sure this isn't the ending.

  28. E.... ....

did all the furniture die too?

  29. C.... T....

    Napoleon foundation in the making.

  30. V.... C....

So is their afterlife forever guarding that border?

  31. M.... B....

I'm a Roman Catholic, and I've never cried so hard while watching a film. This scene in particular had me weeping like a child, just hearing the religious meanings and seeing all of the dead happy in one place. Incredibly meaningful and a lovely end.

  32. E.... A....

I didn't even enjoy the movie overly but this scene makes me well up with tears instantly every time when they're singing do you hear the people sing and you see the spirits of all the people we just watched die. Just beautiful

  33. A.... l....

So what happen to the revelution??the soldiers just kill them all and the people didnt stoodup for them?just like that?

I mean everything was so good in this movie...but what about all the people that were sufering?and those who die trying to deliver freedom to france..all the younge souls all just die in vain??
I mean if it was only about jean valjean raising cosette and stuff like that why did they bring up the france revelution??just to show how they fail???

  34. M.... R....

Bruh Anne Hathaway is on another level

  35. L.... F....

    I wish I'd end like this. 😑

  36. M.... M....

Why the short hair - kind of ruins it...

    M.... M....

in the book she sells hair, teeth etc to avoid going into prostitution and dies like that... bummer, but that's the point

  37. S.... Z....

I remember watching this in the cinema by mistake when I was 11, till that day I never knew it was possible for a movie to make you cry. Well done to the creators of this scene, masterful work

  38. g.... t....

And thus, I became the random history nerd you see in French class try Harding

  39. B.... g....

The first time I watched this it was in class and my teacher would pause in the middle of scenes to explain what was going on. She paused like 3 times during this scene

  40. k.... m....

This scene really makes me cry like a baby

  41. j.... e....

if anyone is dry eyed after watching this then they have no soul

  42. B.... ....

I was about 13 when I watched this movie. The ending, I literally couldn't help crying as we saw those who'd died. This movie was powerful in so many different ways, at different parts.

  43. S.... E....

So much wrong with this film

  44. E.... G....

The stage performance and movie made me ugly cry 😥😫
Also the actor who played the priest is also the original Jean val Jean from the stage performances. The symbolism of that alone was enough to send me into fits of crying

  45. L.... N....

So Cosette is the only one that's alive?

    L.... N....

    And Marius.

  46. L.... N....

    283 dislikes are athiest

  47. A.... C....

3:06 I love how commited that guy is to waving the flag 😂 He basically jerks it back and forth

  48. g.... r....

    Magnificent.

  49. V.... ....

    Commies

  50. O.... ....

    この最後のシーンほんとに感動した

  51. N.... ....

I've been replaying this video for the last fifteen minutes crying enough for a life time. But it's so beautiful I cannot stop. Help 😭❤️

  52. M.... S....

Noooo! No! Not like this, you sex scruffy man!

  53. J.... F....

Is it just me or is Eponine’s storyline the saddest in the movie?

  54. .... ....

조커보고 온사람 없어? 빈부의 연민에 대한 철저한 비웃음에 쓰였는데..

  55. R.... S....

    I'm not crying.. You're crying...

  56. M.... H....

    Love this movie 💗💗

  57. D.... T....

    Cosette crying breaks my heart.
No one truly lives happily ever after in this story.
Even the girl who ended up "happily ever after" lost her father after losing her mother and living through child abuse.

  58. J.... H....

    LOGAN HISHE anyone?

  59. c.... ....

I love how the bishop is the one who greets Valjean when he dies. He was the person who gave him the chance to become a better man.

  60. J.... L....

My father died in 2015 and I listen to this all the time. It makes me think of him and reminds me that someday I’ll see him again.

  61. G.... P....

When I see Marius, all I see is Newt Scammander

  62. j.... m....

"It's the story, of one who turned from hating. A Man who only learned to Love, while you were in his keeping."

  63. T.... R....

I Am an Indian, I cry every time when I watch this beautiful song. full of emotions and deep meanings. I can feel the pain they went through.

  64. K.... C....

“Forgive me of my trespasses and take me to your glory” here come the waterworks 😭

  65. K.... C....

Anne Hathaway did such an amazing job with her character. I loved it so much I even went to see the Broadway play of it.

  66. K.... C....

“Come with me, where chains will never bind you”
    “I’m ready Fantine”
“God in heaven look down on him in mercy”
“Take my hand and I’ll lead you to salvation” my heart aches so much during this scene. I understand a lot of people don’t care much for musicals but if don’t like this movie, you’re probably just too young or immature for it. This movie is extremely moving and will definitely tug at your heartstrings.

  67. R.... C....

Hard to say which is worse here, the acting or the singing.

  68. Z.... 5....

    Fuck im crying

  69. J.... A....

    the most beautiful ending 😭

  70. J.... A....

    the most beautiful ending 😭

  71. D.... D....

That is why some actors deserve an Oscar ❤️

  72. D.... B....

I saw my cousin in a production of the play and in the end the guy waving the flag kept hitting a girl in face with the flag. 🤣🤣🤣 her face was priceless.

  73. M.... A....

I'm here cause of Hong Kong.

  74. p.... h....

    I'm in tears.
This movie is truly a master piece

  75. J.... S....

I couldn’t keep myself together I’m crying AGAIN

  76. g.... k....

i think the part when fantine joins them gets me every damn time
makes me think that the people who died really watches us

  77. t.... g....

6 years later, and this still makes me tear up. Just goes to show how powerful this scene is emotionally

  78. A.... A....

    Logan HISHE brings me here

  79. D.... A....

Perfect video to queue up whenever you feel the need to spontaneously cry like a baby

  80. A.... S....

My favorite song in Les Miserables... Hugh Jackman has such talent... He is such an inspiration to me.... I hope I may someday have the privilege to meet him.

  81. H.... T....

Can someone please explain the ending, I just finished the movie and am very confused.🇫🇷 I loved the movie it was perfection(in a French accent)

  82. v.... o....

    The goosebumps....

  83. E.... M....

Cosette, you can’t just ask people to not die!!!

  84. K.... L....

More than two months... when can hk people put down the sword and get the rewards: freedom, democracy’s and just?

  85. a.... ....

Not that anyone care, but wasn't this a failed revolution that is almost forgotten by most history books. It proved nothing and changed nothing.

  86. a.... ....

Sorry, can't make out a word. Why didn't they put the lyrics below the screen or have these folks enunciate a little better. Well lyrics don't matter. Singing on key doesn't matter.

  87. L.... N....

This ending made me tear up when I was young

  88. R.... R....

Every time I hear Anne's voice as Fantine: instant bawling.

  89. S.... ....

    Far out Eponine is cute...

  90. S.... 2....

The scene makes me cry every time 😭😭

  91. n.... ....

This is how i imagine heaven to be...a reunion of everyone I have crossed paths with throughout my life and have impacted it for good.

  92. J.... N....

Who come here after watch How Logan should be end Hishe

  93. .... ....

I have a lump in my throat.

  94. j.... ....

Since I became a father, I weep every time when Valjean passes away after he sees his adopted daughter one last time. My wife and I took our children to see Les Miserables in London and on cue, we both cried in front of our children. Wonderful ending.

  95. I.... ....

    "Ugh, I hate french people"
    *watches the video
    "Vive la France!!!!!"

  96. L.... G....

I started to believe in God's glory after this lovely history I read the book and I saw the movie twice and I've never felt like this before, I was so anger with God and the people but most with me
"To love another person is to see the face of God" it's a quote that marked my life

  97. N.... D....

I swear to God i have never cried this hard on a whole movie, and when i thought i have wasted too much tears through half past to the ending, this scene just made me bawling my eyes out even harder

Look at their faces when they sing along together in the end, they are finally free.

  98. C.... S....

Nice production, but where is the curtain call?

  99. Z.... M....

There are bodies in that no-man’s land. There are dead people in heaven.

    Z.... M....

That's because when the scene was originally filmed, it was supposed to be right after the 1848 revolution. That's not heaven, it's 1848 Paris. The idea was that the spirits of the 1832 rebellion were marching with the living, successful revolutionaries of 1848. Marius, Cosette, and the Thenardiers were there, too, all older of course. At some point the director Tom Hooper decided to take out all references to the 1848 rebellion and just make it sort of a generic afterlife, but the dead bodies of the soldiers killed in the fighting are still there.

  100. j.... b....

The filming was great something special. They acted well but Russel Crowe as Javert needs shooting
