Someone will probably want to kill me for this, but is anyone else immediately reminded of Dark Souls, especially 3? Not even because of the "I am hollow" thing, only noticed that afterwards, but thematically just the idea of a cycle of civilization that keeps rising and falling for some supposedly grand purpose yet hardly anyone knows about it, and eventually... even ruins die.

This is a nitpick. Maybe it's a special mix of tear ( rip apart ) and tear ( tear duct liquid ) He is Norwegian after all, English is not his first language. I don't mind it.

I'm just guessing that it's a mispronunciation. But yeah, it's a song. Many vocalists mispronounce lyrics and interpret sung words if it suits them at the time, and the synergy of the song demands it.

While i find Moon and Triumphant better songs, i won't deny that Rewind is one of the highlights on this album. The drumming aswell as the brilliant dynamics just make this song so unique!

Omar El Gelani Just got to know them too. Saw them live in Bristol 2 days ago, and had no idea of their existence then, whatsoever. They've put an exceptional show, and this gem was playing. Pure bliss, they've outperformed TesseracT IMO (though was good, too). Can't say, that's one way to discover a band!!

Daemon Burghuur Quite simply, you wouldn't expect less from a band that originally started as a session/backing venue band, sure their performance is always top notch. On top of that, I've always found their tongue in cheek, hipster image to be very intriguing.

I recommend going through Coal and The Congregation first. Those seems to be most well rounded and strongest of their records to my ears.

This album utterly shits on Tesseract's Polaris... Leprous in general shit on Tesseract. These guys are the kings of modern prog metal.

Totally diferent styles, Tesseract is better with atmosphere, lyrics, and vocals just from another world, Daniel and Ashe are just the best singers i heard since Michael Jackson, and Leprous is much more skilled and brutal

I can see why it might be your least favorite, maybe give it another chance. It is "repetative" for a reason look at the lyrics and the whole rewind theme. I think it is a great song, not their best, but the one that got me into them. Maybe because its so catchy and powerful. Also that Inferno Ending tho...

I have never even heard of Leprous until today, but they fucking jam.  I have listened to 'The Price' and this song and I'm already liking these Dudes and I'll have to listen to more of their stuff for sure.  And that is a totally fucking badass metal name as well, LEPROUS!!!!    :-)

@ChucksterOLove Glad to hear that man, I stumbled upon them during the release of their last album Coal and was blown away. I've spent some serious time with this new album already and it's a grower for sure, now I can't stop listening to it. Coal is pretty mesmerizing as well, while Bilateral is more dynamic and offers a variety of tempos and ideas. I highly recommend all three and your post reminded me of how I felt after listening to The Valley from Coal for the first time. Cheers!!!
