Leprous - At The Bottom Lyrics
Flickering fire
A thirsty flame
Burning whispers
Repeating my name
Igniting my words
Leading me down to
An explosive burst
Like a candle out of time
When the wick is burning out
Relieving tension to a final hope
I've been here before and I have grown
With the thoughts I can free when I'm alone
When I'm at the bottom
Right at the bottom
Where I grasp
Whoa, whoa, whoa
For a handle
At the bottom
At the bottom
Where I shine
Whoa, whoa, whoa
As bright as I can
Hey
I wanna let it out, let it out
Hey
I'm gonna let it out, let it out
(Let it out, let it out)
Sinking conclusion
Unstable spark
Ready to leave
This welcoming dark
The day made the chaos
Inadvertent pain
Forging the key to unlock my chain
Freeing myself from the destructive reign
When I'm at the bottom
Right at the bottom
Where I grasp
Whoa, whoa, whoa
For a handle
At the bottom
At the bottom
Where I shine
Whoa, whoa, whoa
As bright as I can
Hey
I wanna let it out, let it out
(Let it out)
Hey
I wanna let it out, let it out
(Let it out, let it out)
I'm back to where
I was when this began
Stranded in the uncharted
Will I ever be the same?
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah
At the bottom
I have started
To find my inner strength
Again
(Oh)
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

the bass is so fat, it doesnt even bother to wear pants anymore
Yes!!! Fantastic!!!
🌿🌿🌿🌿🔥🌿🌿🌿🌿
I wish you played this song in Athens yesterday
Amazing live either way!!
holy shit this is such a banger, I love it
I WANNA LET IT OUT, LET IT OUT
A perfect storm, a perfect storm
'Cause once you're mine, once you're mine
There's no going back.
Sorry..
This sounds more like the old ones
F*cking masterpiece..
This is is the arriving somewhere but not here division...
Tracks follow one another brilliantly and it's a very subtle album which is discovered and savored. After a couple of listening it turns out a little more and it's brilliant (excellent songwritings and musicians with mindblowing vocals). But this track... Whoa, whoa, whoa flickering fire, a thirsty flame, burning whispers... spining again and again...
Weird....but PAIN OF SALVATION already did it many years ago......Sorry!I'll pass!
4:44 reminds me of AHS: Roanoke
I hear massive attack and portished, i hear trip hop here. And i like it.
Cada vez roban más mi corazón. Gracias por existir ❤
If this is « pop » then it is one of the best pop Album ever. Prog metal bands experiment different styles (for example all Pain of Salvation albums are very different from each other). That’s a good thing when a artist does what he likes, when he feels like doing it, and not always what a part of the public expects him to do. This is ART.
Leprous is still brilliant, dark and sincere in their musical choices.
At the bottom is at the same time desperate and full of hope. I listen to it each time I feel right at the bottom. Music is therapy.
Ugh.. the instruments, cello section, the emotion, Einar's voice, the lyrics..and the ending passage "At the bottom
I have started
To find my inner strength
Again"..
and just the way he sings that ending..
Leprous, this is too good ! It hits me hard!
Please tour again with us here in post-apocalyptic America and soon. We need you! Enjoyed your SEA show on the recent tour and we hope that you will add GEG to the schedule in 2020. Your art and effort....totally respected.
The whole song is amazing, but I swear, the last minute is SO, SO, SO BEAUTIFUL AND SO GOOD.
@BAZ INGA if that's so, tell me which song. I've never heard any POS song.
@Sergio Velasquez Honestly,I don't re,e,ber any particular song....POS song....but the mood, the atmosphere and the vibe of this song is so close compared to POS compositions!I didn't say it in a negative way what I said,....it's just the fact that LEPROUS became on this album a POS disciple,servant.....even the vocalist way to sing....it's more dramatic than on other albums....and looks almost similar to Gildenlow's one....don't you think so?LEPROUS are not ...not a clone,I didn't use the right term! And,this is a compliment, man!I love both bands, that's for sure...
@BAZ INGA You have acomplished what nobody has before: convincing me of giving POS a chance. Thanks, man! Will check them out!
@Sergio Velasquez You are very welcomed, man! Please, just tell me what do you think about the comparison between POS and LEPROUS....OK?I a curious....Peace,bro!
@BAZ INGA Sure. Once I've heard them I'll holla back at ya!
Keichi okabe es "EL PAPI" !!
So many similarities with massive attack in this song. Listen to "protection " and you will understand what I mean. I love the fact that they are so different but are inspired by them. Great reference
Great song and beautiful melody.
great song
The chorus of this tune actually reminds me of The Dear Hunter a whole lot! Anyone else getting this vibe?

I wouldn't go as far as calling it a rip off, but I thank you for telling me where I KNEW I heard a melody like that before.
Fargo OST main theme vibes around 05:20
This is INCREDIBLE. Sharing it with all my friends right now.
😍 As a music fanatic for over 2 decades, I can say that this is one of the best songs I've ever heard. So. much. emotion. I'm blown away. 😍
Leprous: we kinda dislike our earlier albums and want to make music that isn’t prog.
Also Leprous: here’s our new album that sounds like our earlier albums and is basically prog.
I am very happy they’re unable to do what they say.
Nothing wrong with Prog it has the complexity that no other genre has definitely not for everyone tho.
I think it has more to do with wanting to push the emotion of their songs rather than being complex for the sake of it. That doesn't necessarily mean it isn't considered prog, just look at Sleep Token.
Nobody talks about the guitars where are they ?
Oh yeah they are lost in the fog on the album cover.
The songs will be much better live.
Who mix the album?
It's more of an orchestral piece of music. A wall of sound supporting the vocals. The point is for everything to work together, not for this or that to grab the spotlight.
Isn't progressive metal the best metal genre or what? Pure GODMODE
This is not metal
GUA - CAMOLE, GUA-GUA-CAMOLEEEEE
God damn it, now it's stuck in my head.
I NEED IT
Perfect, now I'll never be able to unhear it... (It's still hilarious and spot on, so I'll begrudgingly give you a thumbs up ;)
It's about sex right?
4:08 clear through to the end- this is what it sounds like when music makes passionate love to your soul! Give it to me again!
Like Protection by Massive Attack
YESYES YES!!
The darkness in this album reminds me of Steven Wilson and that is huge! Didn't know Leprous had this in their locker.
man this guyy sings awesome
I've listened to this song so many times in a short time frame. Can't get over how good it is.
Also, just wanted to point out that I caught the Haken vocal rhythm from Puzzle Box in this song. It's good to hear my favorite bands exchange sounds.
ahhhhhhhhh omf didn't realize!! Two of my fav songs <3
Ten people are at the bottom and just don't want to let it out.
There's an automatic intimacy with most of leprous' songs, that cannot be explained. The themes on this one are extraordinary and the mixin/production makes them shine! Bravo Leprous!!
I love the contrast in this song, between the soft, airy verses and the sharp, operatic chorus. It seems like Einar has expanded his vocal repertoire as well.
I hear a bit of Haken and Dreamtheater here, especially at the @5:06 mark. Sick album
impressive
Maybe my favourite in the album, absolutely incredible!
Holy shit, this is almost too good. Love it!
AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL ALBUM 💖 💖

Insoportablemente extraordinario. Son de otro planeta. Qué pedazo de disco... pf.
Esta canción, Distant Bells y The Sky is Red son 💯/💯
more like shitfalls, right?
Godfalls*
yeah... and the shit is falling from you ;)
This album is better than Coal
Where did the man touch you?
Try to write some music, at these levels and come back pal!
(If you can).
5:05 is DT:esque, almost Octavarium, but still Leprous at heart and not a rip-off. I love what they did with this song, hope it is used as a benchmark for their further releases. Brilliant.
Man, my distaste for the last few DT albums (nothing personal against the other musicians, but Portnoy was the soul of that band) has really colored my memory of them. I thought this comment was silly, then I went back and listened, and hot damn, that really COULD be a section of a DT song...even one from Awake or Falling into Infinity. But yeah, also Octavarium and Six Degrees. They used to have emotion.
Best song on the album!!!! Really great addition to their discography.
Soft, dark, lyrical, atmospheric, powerfull piece there, leprous never disapoint!
A good chunk of this album sounds like they could be end themes for tv shows
I love it
6:35 that note...
sheer acapella beauty at 7:02
I actually hear Tall Poppy Syndrome in this...
I get goosebumps every time I hear it! 6:27 - 7:21 Einar's vocals here have so much feel
This song is a big middle finger to all the haters. Taking an artistic turn doesn't mean that a band is going weak.
Their best album IMO, remind me to Björk on some ways.
only fucktards use terms like "hater", cause that's a self-fulfilling prophecy.
@LMTR14
Says the guy that can be found on every song insulting Leprous.
this is some good music. goddammit!
Take my money, but never shut up.
Oh my god I love these guys
This is probably my favorite song on the album. So good.
Mine too. Distant Bells as 2nd place and The Sky is Red as 3rd.
This might be my favorite song ever. God damn. The progression is just amazing...it all sounds like the same song, despite a STARK verse/chorus dichotomy and the last few minutes which integrate everything with what sounds like a beautiful cinema overture. And then to somehow naturally end on those final chilling vocals.
I fucking LOVE Bilateral, but this song makes me look at Bilateral like Play-Skool Leprous...
Ok but y r u so güd
5:05 i don't know if i will cry laugh or just close my eyes and travel
6.03-6.58 Goddamn, Einar still manages to impress me...
Un peu plus pop qu'avant mais toujours aussi sublime!!
очень круто
5:06 pure bliss.
Great job Leprous. I was worried after the trend of the singles was that the instrumentation took a step back on the album, but that worry was put to rest after hearing the whole album. Still my favorite band, now and always.
Took the words out of my mouth!
I'm the only one who heard in this passage the same melody of : Marc Anthony & Tina Arena - I Want to Spend My Lifetime Loving You ?
@Morgan B. You're not the only one ^^
the little drum at 2:15 is hilarious
Some drumming at last. Great outro
I feel you...
😭❤woaw❤😭
AT THE BOTTOM, AT AT THE BOTTOM, WHERE I SHINE! WHOAOAOA!
Oh my fucking god... How,?? How is it possible to make something this moving...
2nddddddddd also the songs alreet init
so fucking beautifull im almost crying listening to this. tears of joy. its so emotional
You're just a little sentimental bitch
Капитан Панкейков fuck you you don’t know music
