To be honest I don't like Leona Lewis and I'm a HUGE fan of Oasis since I was 10 (I'm 32 atm)... BUT omg this version is so amazing, I think this must have been what Noel pictured in his mind when writing the song.
I mean, I love Liam's voice, but you gotta admit this version is better. Everyone saying the contrary doesn't know anything about anything lmao.

i expected it to be awful, i think i still prefer oasis' version, but this isn't bad at all, does the song justice certainly.

The original song is one of the greatest songs of the 21st Century without a doubt. However, being such an iconic song, hundreds of covers have been made 90% of which are pretty poor. In fact, this is the only version of the song which does the original any justice. Lewis has put her own spin on the song and so the record is virtually completely detached from the original, although the basic melody is the same. The result: two beautiful renditions of an iconic song. Nothing beats the original, but this does come very close.

I had a grudge against this version for a long time, just because the Oasis version is one of my favorite songs and I was annoyed that a pop star covered it. Though I will admit, she's got a beautiful voice and sang it well, the Oasis version still wins for me. I feel like the original has way more emotion in it, and it never fails to make me cry.

So much goes back to losing my beautiful, wonderful Mom.  Everyone tells me 'it will get easier', but I've learned that it doesn't get easier at all...every day without this vital, dynamic, loving, fun woman is brutally painful...but, I do understand what they mean...we just become more accustomed to the pain.  I will never stop crying my heart out...even though I know she would never want me to hurt as much as I do

I feel your pain :-( I lost my beautiful mother 12 years ago and I still miss her terribly. It's not that it gets easier in time you just learn how to deal with the pain. Some days I can allow myself to open my mind and think back to the time of her passing and remember my feelings in detail but other days I can't bear it so on these days I fill my thoughts with memories of us together and it certainly makes life easier.

Yes! Leona it's only in voice, this is pop version, it's beautiful, but Liam sings with rough voice of Rockers!!!! is the essence of psychedelic pop rock. compared to oasis this version is way more up lifting. oasis version makes you way more depressed. instead of giving you the strength to get up and stop crying your heart out. but I atleast appreciat and thank them for writing the lyrics. but lets be honest, leona Lewis sang crap out of this song way better then oasis.

It's the same song but sang in different ways: the latter has charming shades with a certain sideral reverberation; it has a good beat and texture, but Leona's voice is something incredible: such a great flow and color; her technique don't surpass emotions.

Are we really going to compare the Leona Lewis version (karaoke) to Oasis? The difference between the two is as wide as the Grand Canyon. For thing, the Gallagher brothers are talented musicians and songwriters and happen to be the author of this song. Granted Leona is a gifted singer and I honestly like her and I don't mind this version, but please there is no comparison to Oasis.

I must admit that I usually hate singers who don't write their own songs. Once and again, however, there appears someone with such endearing vocals that I completely forget about their lack of talent for writing music. Leona is one of those cases. I love her renditions of Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Run and The First Time.
