Lennon, Sean - Home Lyrics
The broken glass that fades
The past is a parade of countless days
Painting patterns in the sand
My motorcycle brain
It's like a summer rain
Pictures passing through a field
Blowing into the horizon
Watching the shadows on the wall
Tell me can you see my thoughts?
Watching the shadows on the wall
Have you seen it all before?
I need a friendly hand
When there's nothing to be said anyway
It's all inside your head you know it.
Watching the shadows on the wall
Tell me can you see my thoughts?
Watching the shadows on the wall
Have you seen it all before?

As 90s as you can get
What the Beatles would have sounded like in the 90's.
It's nostalgic AF hearing this song and seeing the video... reminds me of back when MTV actually used to show videos.
So... he gets hit by a van .... and is underwater????? lol
Beatles + nirvana + pixies
platos cave?
A shit King Kong size
It Rocks.
He wrote so many great songs. If he'd only had taken one or two voice lessons he'd have countless platinum singles.
Then he wouldn't have had to become more and more resentful to the world and hide his frustration in toxic decadence.
the fucking 90s.
Sounds like RADIOHEAD
rick hunter sounds like your mun putting fart in a bootle
Sean is nuts
Man that guy can limbo
That guttural, grimy guitar distortion in the chorus is a sound I’ve always tried to emulate, but never seemed to get it dialed in correctly. So phenomenal.
Because It's a bass guitar
Dang i never knew lennon had a son, i only came here for the snorricam.
Why he only released one single!!!
Thanks for the upload 💖I haven't seen this in ages!!
Interpol, Ben folds and shades of Lennon (senior) all fused together...okay tune
Sean is one of my favorite artists and it still makes me smile knowing Spike Jonze made this video!
Song+Video+Sean ....... Greats!
The madman's legacy
I've watched this clip on MTV for a long time since then I've never forgotten it... perfect!
wow so this is what john lennons music would have been like in the 90s if he were alive (i know this is his son but still, i like to think of the alternate history)

Hey this was my rip I uploaded to the alt.binaries.musicvideos usenet group back in 2000. The days I had the 10Ft c-band satellite dish and MTV 2 only showed videos 24 hours a day.
@Steve - ??? this is a 90s riff duhh! but Sean combine it with Psychedelic Beatles.
I always LOVED this video. Trippy and just fucking cool!!! Alright Sean!!!
Still love this! Happy Birthday Sean!
¡¡¡¡lennon japanese!!!!

Love this song & love Sean Lennon ♥
este no canta.este ladra
a lot of people talks about Sean and John's vocal similarities you should listen him singing in french.
i seen his french rap.
Why would you want to sound like John Lennon of all people? He should go out and form his own sound/identity and not try to pinch his dads. Lets face it, no one will compare with John.
Imagine Elvis had a son and he tried to be his dad, recipe for failure.
+Daryl Parkin That's irrelevant to the point. Why try to sound like someone else when you can be yourself?
+JolietJake64 It's completely relevant. This similarity might annoy you or come across as blatant copying and riding on his dad's success but on another level enough people seem to enjoy it. I'm 50/50 on it. I expected a bit more, but I get that people like it. It doesn't matter whether it has similarities or not. Seems to me that you're worrying about it a bit too much.
lol Who said he was "trying" to sound like him? People do tend to pick up physical characteristics from the people who spawn them... not like Sean could have swapped out his vocal chords for someone else's.
It's not the vocal chords, it's the style of delivery.
@Captain Win Well, let's see... he was 22 when he put this song out. So maybe he was still figuring shit out at the time. Maybe his "style of delivery", whatever that is to you, just happens to come naturally to him. It doesn't necessarily mean he's trying to be his father. Maybe it just means he's being his father's son. If Michael Jordan's sons had grown up to become NBA stars does that mean they're ripping his dad off or just maybe following in his footsteps?
Even if he was trying to "pinch" his dad's style, this song sounds pretty god damn good to me. And if anyone has a right to cop John Lennon's style, sound, or whatever it'd be his own son. It sure as fuck wouldn't belong to the Gallagher brothers from Oasis. So... whatever.
If you don't like the song, cool. Just don't assume something that may or may not be true. And don't assume it's necessarily a bad thing even if it is true.
/MyOpinion
This could be the perfect combination of grungy power chord and Beatle melody
Of course, the Beatles sometimes pulled off that perfect combination themselves.
it definitely has a hint of the Beatles. Shawn obviously was influenced by his dads music. He's got talent thats for sure!
cara minha epoca de adolescência foi ouvinde esta e muitas outras musicas que passavam na era de ouro da MTV Brasil meados de 97 98 saudades dessa epoca
rodrigo dethling eu tambem
not bad. but admit your HUGE debt to your dad sean.
I know of his disdain for the constant comparisons/allusions to his father, but it really can't be avoided when you listen to this very blatant acquisition of his father's distinctive sound. There is no possibility of the similarities between Sean and his dad's songwriting and sound being purely subliminal. It is intentional. If anybody else wrote this exact song, listeners would inevitably say "That sounds exactly like John Lennon." He knows this. He did this on purpose. Decent song, but not entirely honest.
What crap.........
I love him!! <3
This the description of my school XD
Walking to the club like..
watching the shadows on the wall tell me can you see my thoughts? watching the shadows on the wall have you seen it all before?
I like this song but the video is a little too strange for my taste.
the video is about getting drugs and going back to your opium den to get fucked up with your cool-guy friends.
@Trenchfoot Also, I think, about schizophrenia.
I'll bet Sean and Julian get really tired of being compared to their father and never being taken at face value. Maybe they need alter egos :)
I did think this was a woman singing when I heard it on Melrose Place in the 90s.
sick song & video
Awesome smooth cross genre magic
dude, this is like, the 90s in one song.
This song was played in during an episode of Melrose Place though I can't find anything about that online.
I know.
radiohead beatles
Hugiito Estalla Radiohead es la mejor banda contemporanea!!! :D
weezer & rentals
Actually, Mutantes (Brazilian band) Beatles he heard a lot those guys before that...
Caza Letras es King Gizzard dude
Sean es Great! Pero la mejor banda y punto son los PIXIES!!!
OMG..doesn't he look and sound like his Dad!
That's what people used to say about John's first son, Julian -- when his first single, the title track from his first album, Valotte, came out, in the 1980s!
"Valotte" was a beautiful song, "Too Late For Goodbyes" was popular, but not to my liking. "Stick Around" was a great one that hit #1 on the U.S. Mainstream Rock charts. I think Julian became his own man, musically, but on that first single, "Valotte", wow, it was EERIE how much he sounded like John!
@Ben Culture
I have never hear of 'stick around'...about to watch it on youtube now!
@MagpieSue
OMG...he looks and sounds so much like his Dad. Proud to say that I have a pic of me and Julian together...can post if you want to see it
@MagpieSue I hope you found it and liked it! I'm going to take a look for it now myself.
beatles + nirvana
ArtFactory faz sentido rsss
Yes!! And pixies
Great song to take some dabs too.... :)
how the heck did they do that walking effect?
dude you are such a audiophile obviously you know everything about every fucking artist why don't you go jack off to miley cyrus we don't care
yup...very true
Sean Lennon ripped off Elliott Smith. I hear it in every single song off this first "album" of his. He's ripping off Smith, Beatles production style, and nonsense lyrics and bad songwriting. Fuck!!! Julian is so much cooler.
Makes me want to move to Los Angeles in the 90's. If only I could've
I've liked this weird song since high school in the 90's. Its a stupid & weird song
This song its amazing!!!!!!!!!! fucking love it
Great song & video. I have the album.
Great song & video. I have the album.
that bass distortion is so fucking perfect
Give us more....
anyone know what headphones he's using?
I just love this kind of music, I miss the cranberries, smashing pumpkins, Silverchair and all those years. If I see this album I'll buy it, though here where I live music is more or less dead. Stores only bring crap discs.
imagine being john lennon's son, wow
chip off the old block
Not 100% true, although you are partly right that is a factor but,the main reason that less videos or no videos at all at one time is that mtv owns the rights to music videos when they are sent in and for the most part they cant be played elsewhere or thats the way it use to be and mtv is owned by viacom,so having a monopoly on video singles was a problem, its more a legal issue than anything else.
I'm bringing this song back cause its that Good.
woow se parece un chingo a su papá XD buen video
Cibo Matto!
youtube plays videos whenever you want them and at your request. mtv had to move forward. the ratings for reality tv are much higher than music videos.
I love this tune,so mellow and dreamy
I know that feeling =(
