Lennon, John - Born In A Prison Lyrics
We are born in a prision,
raised in a prision
Send to a prision called school,
We cry in a prision,
We live in a prision,
like fools.
Wood becomes a flut when
it's loved,
reach for your self and your
battered mates.
Mirror becomes a razor when
it's broken,
Look in a mirror and see
We live with no reason,
Kicked around for no reason,
Thrown out without reason
like tools.
Work in a prision
And hate in aprision
And die in a prision
as a rule.
We live in a prision
Among judges and wardnes
And wait for no reason or use
We laugh in a prision,
Go through all four seasons
And die with no vision
or truth

GRACIAS HERMOSO. HERMOSA CANCIÓN, EXTRAORDINARIO SOLO DE SAXO.
" Born In a Prison", by Yoko Ono from her and John Lennon's 1972 album, Sometime In New York City, with Elephants Memory band.
This isn't a bad song...
Dig the sax, too.
yoko sings great!!!she wrote great!!!! her spirit-soul inspires thought of REALITY!!! no other pop artist can make that claim to the degree I profess for the millionairess.
Normally I dont like Yokos songs, but I have to say! This one is pretty good! Definately going on my Ipod
Nice lyrics and melody. I also like John's sensitive chorus harmony, not overshadowing her at all.
Awesome. It's so funny!
so ,I like it very much, love
Beautiful singing from Yoko! :)

@MattHatter yes, yoko has the writing credit for 'born in a prison'
Who changed John's voice into a girl voice?
Im a huge Beatles fan and love John Lennon but I´ve got to admit this is the song I love the most from Sometime In New York City, and is Yoko´s.
one of yoko's best - up there with toyboat and sisters o sisters. john lennon on backing vocals - what's not to like and respect.

i <3 yoko! i hope she lives on through her seventies!

This is a great song. The irony for Yoko is that all of her classical training as a musician did not do much for her vocals. I think her voice is fine, but she could have used some vocal training.
well, i don't hve nothing with Yoko but she sing SO BAD!!!
Not as bad as Sisters O' Sisters, this one.
The Lennon/Ono harmonies still don't come close to that of Linda/Paul, nor does it come close to Paul harmonizing himself.
Regardless, I still love this album.
hmmm...to continue that line of thought. perhaps we should blast it loud into the mountains of afghanistan and smoke out the taliban
Thanx for the Ono post. Her new album happens to be really interesting and quite good, btw.
