Takes me back. What a great album, used to hang out at 102 park in Queens NY and we would sing along with every song.
Later records from you guys were very good as well. Found my emotions getting attached to many of your songs.

Heard this on a dubbed cassette in the mid-90's when Evan was a 120 Minutes boy band model. Needless to say, this is their best material. Classic pop punk album...people say Husker Du, and I get that...but I also hear Sloppy Seconds? Great stuff.

The real Lemonheads IMO before the screaming young girls stepped in. Those early shows were just fantastic.

they went grunge and kind of fucked up their sound. almost every band tried to imitate that sound after Nevermind hit. It should've stayed a localized sound.

Very Proud Of This Album Cover ( taken by bass player Jesse Peretz' mom Anne ) At least it LOOKS like a classic punk album and ... has some good jams ... Jeff Conollly from The Lyres sure bolstered my resolve when he told me he really liked Don't tell yourself it's ok ... 

Wow, not bad... kind of a early 'Mats/Du ripoff, but worlds better than their 90's material.

It sucked that this band went pop along with Buffalo Tom, Soul Asylum and the Goo Goo Dolls after Nirvana hit big on the charts which led to all the crappy pop punk stuff.

+Brian Scott Leist I'd say those bands (at least Soul Asylum and The Lemonheads) went pop well before Nirvana hit it big. Or at the very least moved away from punk rock. This was really The Lemonheads' only punk record and Soul Asylum only carried that sound with their very early recordings (like Your Clock and Nowhere to Go) and up to their first album. I'd say both bands were really considered college rock/alternative bands by 91. Don't really know Buffalo Tom, so no idea about that. I will agree with the gist of your point though.

Yeah, 'Lovey' came out in 1990, the year before Nirvana broke through, and it's basically "It's a Shame About Ray, the Prequel".
