Legend, John - Glory Lyrics

[John Legend:]
One day when the glory comes
It will be ours, it will be ours
One day when the war is won
We will be sure, we will be sure
Oh glory
Glory, glory
Oh, glory, glory

[Common:]
Hands to the Heavens, no man, no weapon
Formed against, yes glory is destined
Every day women and men become legends
Sins that go against our skin become blessings
The movement is a rhythm to us
Freedom is like religion to us
Justice is juxtapositionin' us
Justice for all just ain't specific enough
One son died, his spirit is revisitin' us
True and livin' livin' in us, resistance is us
That's why Rosa sat on the bus
That's why we walk through Ferguson with our hands up
When it go down we woman and man up
They say, "Stay down", and we stand up
Shots, we on the ground, the camera panned up
King pointed to the mountain top and we ran up

[John Legend:]
One day when the glory comes
It will be ours, it will be ours
One day when the war is won
We will be sure, we will be sure
Oh glory
Glory, glory
Oh, glory, glory

Now the war is not over, victory isn't won
And we'll fight on to the finish, then when it's all done
We'll cry glory, oh glory
We'll cry glory, oh glory

[Common:]
Selma is now for every man, woman and child
Even Jesus got his crown in front of a crowd
They marched with the torch, we gon' run with it now
Never look back, we done gone hundreds of miles
From dark roads he rose, to become a hero
Facin' the league of justice, his power was the people
Enemy is lethal, a king became regal
Saw the face of Jim Crow under a bald eagle
The biggest weapon is to stay peaceful
We sing, our music is the cuts that we bleed through
Somewhere in the dream we had an epiphany
Now we right the wrongs in history
No one can win the war individually
It takes the wisdom of the elders and young people's energy
Welcome to the story we call victory
The comin' of the Lord, my eyes have seen the glory

[John Legend:]
One day when the glory comes
It will be ours, it will be ours
One day when the war is won
We will be sure, we will be sure
Oh glory
Glory, glory
Oh, glory, glory
Oh, glory, glory
Hey, glory, hey, glory

[John Legend:]
When the war is won
When it's all said and done
We'll cry glory, oh glory

  35. B.... Z....

When was in school my music was doing this thing where he went through every body in my class to pick people to sing there song that we were talking about in the classes before this class. Some people didn’t want to do it but when he picked me I maned up to pick a song. That song was this. I picked up the microphone and started to sing. In the first rap part I killed it but the second it got a bit rough but he cut the music there knowing I was having trouble but he wanted me to stay back after class. So I stayed back and you know what I played the rap part so good that he put me on the chores team. I didn’t sign up for the chores but he put me in. I practice that song with all my heart. It paid of to because when I had to the cafeteria to on stage and sing. I sang so good that when other times when he put the song just for fun or just to listen to. My classmates will tell that’s your song dude

I was really happy about that

R.I.P Martin Luther King Jr (1929-1968) Bless his soul for doing good things to change this world :)

  68. M.... P....

Where all humans we fight through all of our challenges

  69. .... K....

Honestly, racism is still a thing, even after martin's speech. This ain't right. The only time everyone would come together is when a massive crisis is apparent that is capable of wiping out humanity. But after that, everyone goes back to their same old habits. It's messed; we're all made in an equal image of the same blood.

  70. P.... C....

Y'all keep talkin baou martin luther king, but what about Malcolm X? Feels like people not like him as much as martin cuz he was muslim

  71. R.... K....

"Even Jesus got his crown in front of a crowd." Sorry to break it to you but Jesus isn't black he is mostly likely mixed. It would only be fair because of well religious beliefs and our own mindset. Yes, I am black and not racist.

  88. L.... C....

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."-Martin Luther King Jr.
If he saw what the world is now, he would be dissapionted

  89. T.... F....

I love the song and what it wants to convey

  90. S.... B....
