I love these old romantic love songs. I remember when Payboy magazine rated Peggy Lee one of the best jazz singers of her era, and I remember I didn't exactly agree at the time. I thought she had a nice, but not great voice, I certainly didn't consider her jazzy. And then I heard her rendition of Mr. Wonderful. The emotion she puts into it, the inflection in the voice, the phrasing is perfect, you could tell she loved the song, and the full orchestral arrangement. I'm not usually an emotional type person, but her version of this song almost brought tears to my eyes. I think it's got to be one of the finest recordings of the 40s.

I was looking for this song because I heard it in 740 AM. They play a lot of old songs and I enjoy them more so than the present music.
I'm a ROMANTIC at heart and that is why I'm drawn to the 40s and the 50s..the movies, the clothes, the music...which brings me to this song. I find it to be tender, intimate and moving. This is conveyed in ROSSNAVY's comments. It moved me to tears...simply beautiful. Thanks for Sharing that moment. It gave even more meaning to the song.
