Honestly I find to be one of the top two versions of this song Connie Francis' version being the other. Where connie's version is more sorrowful, Brenda is more hopeful.

I don't know who did this arrangement but they should be shot at sunrise. This isn't about how huge her voice was...and it was that, BUT this is about the song...the gorgeous lyric, the music and the tempo...NOT about Brenda Lee!  Awful rendition...just awful!

@Kuklapolitan the problem is not her voice its the orchestration ...who ever produced this was over the top but Lee is , as usual, beautifully expressive.

It takes forever for brenda to transition from one verse to the next, but she is a great singer.

I love how Ms Lee uses her voice as the "instrument" of this song, being on pitch and hitting each note with precision.

That incredible one of kind sound in Brenda's voice and all that great control make this song heavenly. From "I'm sorry" and "Sweet Nothings", or "Rockin' around the Christmas Tree" her voice was recognizable no matter what song she sang. I think that she started recording at ten years old.
