I think that should be "just a bit of my heart", but that could be just my own mondegreen.

Upon further review, it appears that everyone in the world who covered this song, says "beat". All of the printed lyrics say "beat". When Brenda Lee sings it, though, to me it sounds like "bit". I think that makes more sense, too. She's lost her love and her heart is broken....only a bit of it left. Elsewhere, in the song she mentions the "beating" of her heart. That would be more than "a beat". Maybe it's a mondegreen, but it's my mondegreen and I'm keeping it.
