I first heard this song in Houston, my high school robotics team and I were there for nationals. My teacher was driving the car down the highway after a long day, us kids packed into the back staring out the open windows and chatting, and this song was playing as the breeze blew through the car. It always makes me smile.

Yeah I don't get the thumbs down either. This guy has a voice that plucks the heartstrings & his songs tell a story. There seems so much to love & so little to dislike - as you say why bother to register disapproval... Not everyone has good taste sure but why advertise the fact ? Could any of these negative voters sing their way out of a wet paper bag - play an instrument - or write a song that can touch the spirit? Amos is a rare jewel & should be appreciated by those who can respond to him - the rest should simply move on to something more up their alley...

To me the song sounded like he was planning suicide ... maybe that's why some react badly to the lyrics. It would be a great 'funeral' song though

I'm a huge Amos Lee fan. Have seen him twice in concert. Absolutely LOVE this song! I'm a musician also, and have covered this song a few times at open mics. People rave about it. Can't match Amos and his precision voice, but I enjoy doing it all the same. Keep on rockin' Amos.

I've seen Amos Lee live 3 times. He does this song wonderfully, he opened with it each time. I listen to all types of music and I don't usually do the youtube comments. But 67 people listened and gave it a thumbs down? I don't get it. Just because I don't see it as the type of song to rub someone the wrong way. I don't bother to put a thumbs down on music I don't care for, I just move on to the other 3 billion choices, why bother? Ok, that's all love Amos Lee, great dude. : )

Amos Lee is phenomenal

There is zero justification for the thumbs down on this song; on this artist. He's solid all around. Voice is insane, writing is incredible. Oh well, there are just people out there who have to be negative. Let them be, we'll be happy and jamming to great music while they wallow in self-despair. This has to be the best song while out on a country road cruising with the top down.
