Led Zeppelin - Wearing And Tearing Lyrics
It starts out like a murmur
Then it grows like thunder
Until it bursts inside of you
Try to hold it steady
Wait until you're ready
Throw the door wide open
Not a word is spoken
Anything that you want to do
Ya know, ya know, ya know...
Don't you feel the same way?
Don't you feel the same way?
But you don't know what to do
No time for hesitatin'
All you got to do is move
They say you're feeling blue, well
I just found a cure
It's a thing you gotta do, yeah
Ya know, ya know, ya know...
Now listen: You say your body's aching?
I know that it's aching
Chill bumps come up on you
Yeah, the funny fool
I love the funny fool
?Just like foolin' after school?
And then you ask for medication
Who cares for medication
When you've worn away the cure
Ya know, ya know, ya know...
Go back to the country
Yeah, go back to the country
Feel a change is good for you
When you keep convincin'
Ah, don't keep convincin'
What's that creeping up behind a you?
It's just an old friend
It's just an old friend
And what's that he's got for you?
Ya know, ya know, ya know...
Do your dance do your dance do your dance
Oooooh, medication. Medication! Medication!

Led Zeppelin Wearing And Tearing Comments
Anyone else notice how it seems to get progressively faster as it goes on? Great song if you’re about to get into a bar fight
Reading through comments, surprised not more adulation for these ripping cool lyrics...Plant obviously is directing it towards Jimmys addiction IMHO
ah, no.
@Perry Comeauno you dont agree or do you know what the lyrics are about...ah?
When you listen to this just have a thought and total sympathy for the drum kit. Man that set just got BATTERED in this track😁😁😁😁
that will work
its so punk!!!
Most underrated song of all time.
Kick ass tune
Led Zeppelin is one of those rare bands which does not have even one not-too-great song.
Typical Zeppelin so so Good ask any ZEPPELIN fan !!
Le lindo kilombo x favor
Once again....this should have been in place of Carouselambra......without question.....if more length is needed add Walter's Walk.....
how the hell did bonzo manage to kick the living shit out of that bass drum with such dexterity? we need to clone that ankle!
🤗😲😘 OK... where's the tongue in cheek emoji? 😁
To the 66 fu
As a punk of 1977 era I can honestly say they were no match for any punk band here. No wonder it was dropped. Sounds like a bad Ac/Dc rip off.
Knebworth 79
First song should of been Wearing and Tearing.
Fuck you to the critics.
Then released after the album as an EP with Ozone and Darlene.
whats he got for you, a needle full of heroin
I don't really care much for most of the songs on Coda but this is a great song. No idea why it was left off In Through The Out Door.
This should have been on "In through the Outdoor".
Heavy stuff.
Best off of CODA, imo
It starts out like a murmur
Then it grows like thunder
Until it bursts inside of you
Try to hold it steady
Wait until you're ready
Any second now will do
Throw the door wide open
Not a word is spoken
Anything that you want to do
Ya know, ya know, ya know
Ya know, ya know, ya know
Ya know, ya know, ya know
Don't you feel the same way?
Don't you feel the same way?

Ya know...
Yeah, yeah, yeah I can feel it, I can feel it ?
Oh, medication, medication, medication
Say a prayer for these drums. R.I.P. Murdered for music.
Perfect final song for the final Zeppelin album.
JPJ and Bonzo are murdering on this song. So underrated.
I wonder if the kids know that the lyrics are about herion
I think it's definitely about sex!
They wrote this after seeing The Damned.
Supposedly, the band composed this after seeing The Damned in concert.
The riff is fast like iron maiden's riffs
John Paul Jones is the cleanup man.
one of the most satisfying things in this universe
As delicious as it could get...
Yeeeeah boy, wear it out Johnny B.
Nice track--not sure how it would've fit on ITTOD, but as a "leftover," it definitely works. Really nice cover at Knebworth, even without JPJ...
If only Bonzo lived. They probably would have done great stuff in the 80's. Fans would debate which Zeppelin era was the best. Oh the possibilities. RIP John Bonham.
3:33..bonham was fucking awesome! !
2018 it's still gr8 music!!
beatsdddx ....yes sirEEEEE!!!!!!!!
One of their best songs in my meaningless opinion.
Ethereal Catholic I agree hundredpercent
Ethereal Catholic always been and always will be my favorite
Can't be beat
Just raw power emotion rock at its finest
Outstanding
I barely liked this album when it came out in 1982. I thought is was cool to hear unreleased led zeppelin.I listened to it and liked it.But I would always go to the track "I can't quit you baby". Because in my opinion,at least at that time.I thought It was the best track.I was 16 and I was comparing this album to the heavier led zeppelin albums Led Zeppelin I and II.As I got older and gave these songs another listen.I began to like them just as much.My favorite song on this album is OZONE BABY.But they are all good.
So sad that we lost John Bonham. People have dared to say this was their worst album, and that my friend, is a travesty. These songs, as great as they are...were the cuts that didn't make it on their previous albums! LOL! And they rock! It was like, out of honor to JB, they shared these with the world and for that I am so grateful.
I agree with you on John Bonham. I have been on this Earth for 56+ years and I have always been a Led Zeppelin fan. This IS their worst album. No shine or pop to it. Plain and simple. I am looking at it objectively and not like a Led Z fanatic either.
its not an album, its just unreleased tracks thats all
@Reflection Ofpower I thought this was their worst album. Cant listen to it straight through, but Ive listened to Darlene and especially Wearing and Tearing probably more times than most other songs in my collection
Just imagine if this was done at Knebworth........
There is a video of Page & Plant doing it in the early 90”s with Plant’s band and its great!
I know, right!
Just in case anyone needed further proof of Bonham's greatness
The real reason they left it off ' In through the out door'.... Bonzos 'possesed state' of incredible drumming scared the living shit out of the band...
Reading Mick Wall, I was prepared for this to be complete crap. I'm not getting crap. Not vintage, but the boys had set the bar pretty high.
operation knee jerk!
i heard Bonzo was pretty out of it at the time. so how can he drum like this??
Coz he was & always will be the Master!🤘
Best album from Led Zeppelin.
After learning the background to this song. Makes me wish what the 80's was waiting for them....
This album is great for drunks, like me.
Mark Gelbart same
Hell yes!!!
I'm sorta sober. I very much like...this.
Led Zeppelin has this sound that feels almost like a narcotic
L'Quik Suárez I've always said you can hear the heroin in their later stuff
L'Quik Shrtz that's a feeling they were going for
This is the sound of 80's Led Zeppelin. That magic is fucking dead....
This is way 2 fuckin' good!
Love that bass drum pedal job!
Right! Aynsley Dunbar and Cozy Powell ( RIP ) are/were also great at Kick Drum trickery and tastiness ;)
John Smith the fucker had 3 arms and legs
53 seconds until the first vocals. Some Beatles songs were barely twice that length. Bravo gentlemen.
Zep is still way better than the Beatles.
Disagree beatles better
Gentlemen, gentlemen, again with this? Apples and oranges baby
The Beatles- Best pop rock band of all time
Led Zeppelin- Best hard rock blues band of all time
The Rolling Stones- Best rock n roll blues band of all time
Pink Floyd- BEST BAND OF ALL TIME BABY WHOOO!!! SUCK ON THAT!!!
@MegaSilverBlood good comment apart from the bottom
@MegaSilverBlood nice.
Totally agree.
4:09 = pure bliss
Worst Zeppelin song . Might as well just say it...................could be the worst song ever " composed "..............it is really funny
great tune
thats your opinion not a fact
could be agreeing with you but it would be two people talking shit at the same time.
What's that creeping up behind You ?
Can see why this tune did not make it onto a major release ( before this last disc of outtakes ) .....it really sucks . But that's wat is really cool about it .
what the fuck is the song about ?
some bad stuff
+R Gray
Who cares?
drug addiction
R Gray I swear to god, you've commented enough. Screw off and go listen to Bieber
Jimmy Page was sick dope sick waiting on one of his buds to show up with the dope that's what I read an article but who knows if that's really true
Sex... Duh!
2:52 "just like pooping after school"
"And then you ask for medication"
No lie, this post literally changed my life. I still lose my shit laughing when I listen to this song 😂
And now I poop after work just like when I used to poop after school
Imagine what In Through The Out Door would have sounded like if they included this heavier stuff on it.
+Michael Garcia Yeah this and "Darlene" were much better than half the crap on In Through The Out Door
these are all throw away songs
I think it would give it a Physical Graffiti
The line "what's that creepin' up behind you" cracks me up - it's Bonzo, apparently! LOL
They used to call this kind of thing a "rave-up".
Who cares for medication!!!
+Anthony deville I did before they threw away the cure.
+Andrew LaChapelle worn away the cure, *took the meds to the point they won't work the same way again*
Anthony deville I think when he says that he's referring to Marijuana.
I like medication. I drink lots of white wine to prevent Parkinson's disease. and I smoked lots of marijuana until I was 30 and married a non-pot-smoker who is afraid of the illegality of it. God Dammit! Legalize Marijuana for recreational use in Georgia.
this is Alarm Clock Tuneage!!
this is bonzos album,,,powerful drummage throughout,,great last song energy,,,this whole album gives Bonham justice,,if I was him,,this Coda album would be my keepsake,,maan,,,
+siniastz You can find Bonzo's isolated drum tracks online. They're pretty awesome listening.
He is my all time favorite. I am 50 and have been playing since i was 9. I play copeland, pace, ulrich, Danny Carey, Pert etc. But some of the transitions all in 4.4 are truly genius. Man what a drummer!!!!!
Um...drummage?
If there was ever music for perpetual motion, Zep captured it time and time again.....
Much like the EXCELLENT Carouselambra from ITTOD !! ♪♫
