Led Zeppelin - The Crunge Lyrics

I wanna tell you bout my good thing
I ain't disclosing no names but--
He sure is a good friend and!
I ain't gonna tell you where he comes from, no!
If I tell you you wont come again! Hey!
I ain't gonna tell you nothin but I do will, but I know, yeah!
I should do but I know now let me tell you bout my girl:
Open up a newspaper and what do I see? Ahh, ah
See my girl, ah, looking at me
Ooh, And when she walks, Ooh, lemme tell ya:
She walks and when she talks, she talks and
When she looks at me in the eye
She's my baby lord I wanna make her mine
Tell me baby what you want me to do!
You want me to love you, love some other man too?
Ain't gonna call me Mr. pitiful, no!
I don't need no respect from nobody...

I ain't gonna tell you nothing I ain't gonna no more, no!
She's my baby let me tell you that I love her so and
And! She's the woman I really wanna love
And let me tell you more, oooh!
She's my baby she lives next door
She's the one a woman the one a woman that I know.
I ain't gonna... tell you one thing that you really ought to know ooh!
She's my lover baby and I love her so and
She's the one that really makes me whirl and twirl!
And she's the kind of lover that makes me me fill the whole world and
She's the one who really makes me jump and shout, ooh!
She's the kind of girl--I know what it's all about!
Take it take it

Excuse me
Oh will you excuse me
I'm just trying to find the bridge... Has anybody seen the bridge?

(Have you seen the bridge?)
I ain't seen the bridge!

(Where's that confounded bridge?) [spoken by Robert Plant]

  40. R.... T....

And remember that they are funking out in a fucked up 9/8 time signature! Which is 1 more than regular guys got. Wow. Even better than turning it up to 11!

  41. A.... I....

  42. A.... I....

this was always my jam, funky beats yo

  43. G.... S....

    I am some other man

  44. G.... L....

Niles Rodgers styled Page's riff to incorporate into many disco era songs. Rodgers was really creative too.

  45. G.... L....

Oh, they ain't gonna call me Mr. Pitiful...

'AIN'T GONNA CALL ME MISTER PITIFUL, NO...……...EXCUSE  ME I'M JUST TRYING TO FIND THE BRIDGE'  - ROBERT PLANT.

  49. D.... M....

All it is is Robert plants Vocals can make any song sound good think if eany body else sung that soung it would sound like shit

  50. J.... P....

I did such a cool dance to this with a program once

  51. A.... F....

Tempo dispari molto intrigante per quei tempi! ;)

  52. S.... B....

    I found the bridge....once...

  53. T.... F....

Kinda sounds like the soundtrack of the game bully

  54. y.... j....

    this song is more 80s

  55. D.... M....

Just kicks all get out. This is truly appreciated music.

  56. g.... ....

Another great song they can do no wrong

  57. L.... ....

It's not hard to listen to, but it's not a good Led Zeppelin song. The guitar riff is redeeming everything else is a mess.

  58. T.... A....

For casual Zep fans who think every song of theirs should sound like Whole Lotta Love I, II, III, and IV, songs like this that showcase their versatility are what separate them from many of their contemporaries, and put them on a higher plane. When they explored new genres and sounds, they expanded minds, and opened up new opportunities.

Their odd numbered albums tended to be more "experimental" and broader sounding (Zep I, III, HOTH, Presence), and the follow-up albums (Zep II, IV, Physical Graffiti) took what they learned from those albums and created all-time masterpieces.

Its their desire to move into new sounds, like the Crunge, that kept them fresh, and added depth to their catalog.

  59. F.... ....

Is there any genre or sound Zep didn’t explore? One of the reasons I love this band. Full of surprises.

    F.... ....

lean hip hop. But honestly knowing the guys they would have made a record on heroin and outclass all of the stars now and destroy the genra forever

  60. L.... L....

    Funk it up Zep!

  61. M.... B....

Huge Led fan. Love this song. Sue me. They need to suck James Brown's ring. Seriously. Love this song. Robert needs to drop to his knees and kiss JB's ring.

  62. n.... n....

    the cringe

  63. R.... K....

There is no bridge, but there is an arpeggio, which has been misspelled per Jimmy and Bobby. The word is arpageo. Ozzie lost the bet and he knows it and so he changed the spelling of the word and took credit for Jimmy and Bobby's so very creative concept.

  64. M.... M....

Can we just appreciate those keyboards? Pretty funky!

  65. J.... B....

Where does this confounded bridge lead us¿¿¿

  66. C.... ....

Don't share on FB. The album cover image breaks their rules on nudity,as I just found out.

    C.... ....

True story. I got banned for 24

  67. R.... K....

This sounds like no other song I have ever heard, yet I see plenty of posts to the contrary. It is the timing in this song that sets it apart from any other. Jimmy does very complex things with timing, as in sections of different tempos all at the time. It says a lot about existence to me. Brilliant!

  68. g.... y....

Tracks like this are the reason why Zeppelin doesn't get stale.
There's so much versatility to their sound.

  69. S.... W....

Amazing that they opted to put this on the record rather than other tunes- Houses Of The Holy, The Rover, Travelling Ricerside Blues, that they already had recorded.

  70. P.... F....

    Yeah!!!

  71. F.... ....

    You just posted crunge!

  72. K.... ....

I love this song, are people sleeping on this song?

  73. D.... W....

    I love this song lol

  74. B.... R....

    Drunk again, sounds good!

  75. S.... F....

Tony Balls used to play this song exactly like Bonzo. He was the Best drummer in East L.A. Mike Cucuy loved this song and would put this album on the turn table and play this song only and then change the record and we would all get so pissed at him. Rest in Peace Tony and Mike

  76. M.... Z....

This is James Brown's "Sex Machine "

  77. S.... P....

this was a shitpost but in 1973 and i love it

Whoa..."Wt"-Funky hell is happening????....Please help me.

  79. D.... ....

What happens when the biggest rock stars in the world get down and get funky

  80. T.... r....

It was a James Brown tribute. A jam session grew into a song.
Your visual of JB is right on - "I ain't Mr. Pitiful- don't need no respect from nobody" was a jab back @Aretha Franklin's
    R - E - S - P - E - C - T

Led Head here. I'm old :-)

  81. A.... W....

This song gives me a James Brown visual

    A.... W....

Jam tribute to James Brown. Plant sings "I ain't Mr. Ptiful... don't need no respect from nobody.- Back to Aretha Franklin's
    R - E - S - P - E - C - T.. Led Head here. I'm old. :-)

  82. R.... K....

The very first time I heard this one all over again, I was about 12 ( at least that is what they tell me ). I played this one song hundreds of times in just one day. It was a 45 and on the other side was D'yerMaker. I played that several hundred times as well in the very same day.

    R.... K....

There are 1440 minutes in a 24 hour day. The length of D'yer Maker and The Crunge combined is about 7 and a half minutes. 1440 divided by 7.5 is 192. Assuming you listened each song an equal number of times, if you listened for 24 hours NON-STOP with no sleep, meals, or bathroom breaks the ABSOLUTE MOST you could manage is 81 listens to each song.

    R.... K....

@It's About Dram Time OK, so maybe it took me an entire weekend.
The point is that there is magic in that music and i used it for pain relief of a spiritual kind and it worked. Pain relief is highly addictive,

  83. 7.... ....

    James Brown tribute song

    7.... ....

    I know!

  84. F.... ....

James Brown. James Brown. James Brown. James Brown.

  85. e.... ....

This songs as funky as a gas station toilet.

  86. M.... G....

I tried to share this on Facebook, but Facebook blocked it because the cover doesn't meet "community standards."

    M.... G....

    Same here.

  87. L.... S....

Careful everyone, Facebook apparently thinks this video contains nudity that goes against their standards. Even though butt cracks are not against their standards.

    L.... S....

Yeah, they're reviewing my post of it now... sigh. I think that FB found the confounded bridge.

  88. B.... S....

Long story short. I was in two huge accidents, should not be alive... both times (not a joke in anyway), this song was playing. So no matter what happens if this song ever plays in my car i always skip it. Even though this album is amazing.

    B.... S....

BAD SEED probably a good idea 😂 glad you’re with us 🙏🏻

    B.... S....

    🤔😵

    B.... S....

BAD SEED glad you’re here, too bad you can’t enjoy some funky Zeppelin though :P

  89. S.... G....

I like this album, but this song is a total failure. Should have kept it an instrumental and taken out Plants vocals.

  90. F.... H....

    Very very very James brown

  91. b.... b....

    Where's that confounded bridge!

  92. T.... M....

Led Zeppelin's tribute to James Brown.

  93. M.... K....

This is basically the one song that the red hot chili peppers based their entire career on ...

    M.... K....

@Metal Zboy Well said. I just reached for a name I knew. And I knew Bootsy played with James Brown, who is oft cited as the grandfather of funk. But you make a very good point. It's always an oversimplification to name one transformational artist. Larry was bad a$$, for sure.

    M.... K....

Master Carbuncle lmao, how did you not know that was sarcasm ?

    M.... K....

I do not agree. They are a band who mainly use 4/4 and they're best known for choruses with strong and catchy melodies and funky verses. Limiting them to funk only is completely wrong. Led Zeppelin were an inspiration for Chad and John, but did not influence much the overall style and sound of the band.

    M.... K....

@Scott Bulinski james brown ring a bell?

  94. D.... ....

    That *FUCKING* bridge

  95. I.... S....

That The confounded Bridge is in U.S.A. somewhere relative to the Frisbie Bridge Company that may work out of Topeka, Kansas where jimmy page dad worked before he passed(RIP). Jimmy Page also went to Crane Junior High in early 70's who loves to joyride in chevys lip lock cars. I do not know nothin'...

  96. M.... J....

I think this was one of those songs they were just having some fun with just to tweak people with.

    M.... J....

Martin Jensen it’s very James Brown, I quite like this song though

  97. T.... B....

    Damn those drums are hard

  98. N.... ....

I just recently found out that this song is in 9/8. Massive respect for Jimmy and the band

  99. A.... Q....

When you think of led Zeppelin, you think of wizards and Vikings, not funk.

    *but now.. You will.*

  100. B.... H....
