Led Zeppelin - Over The Hills And Far Away Lyrics
Hey, lady, you got the love I need
Maybe more than enough.
Oh, darling, darling, darling, walk a while with me
You've got so much, so much, so much.
Many times been bitten
Many times I've gazed
Along the open road.
Many times I've lied
Many times I've listened
Many times I've wondered
How much there is to know.
Many dreams come true
I live for my dream
And a pocketful of gold.
Mellow is a man
Who knows what he's been missing
Many many men
Can't see the open road.
Many is a word
That only leaves you guessing
Guessing 'bout a thing
You really ought to know.
Really ought to know.
I really ought to know.
You know I should.
You know I should.
You know I should.

So like, musically I love this song, but the lyrics are sort of "ditch your impregnated girlfriend and run for it"

Truly a great stoner song

After 72 I was like, what? Really? Robert sang it with a lower tone which I didn't like nearly as much. I mean, he could pull it off just because his style and persona was so incredible, but nothing beats the way he first did it when I seen them. I like the higher singing better for this song. The only thing that saved them on the live shows was basically Jimmy Page. I like the Studio version way better than the live shows except for the rare ones that highlight Robert singing it with the higher pitch!
they kick ass
They were around in my time. Never listened to them. But I just saw the Kennedy Center Honors.. and now I’m a fan🥰🥰🕉☮️✝️
love them all the time
They just have something divine about them.
*THIS IS NOT OVER THE HILLS* has anybody even listened to the video?
Hell yeah Im 14 and I litsen to THIS 2020
You have a good ear. I don't care about when the music comes out. The only thing I do care about is whether or not it is good. I also like beatnik jazz, and I even wrote a dedication tune of my own to celebrate it. I'm getting up there, but beatnik jazz was even before my time. I still love it. They were actually the first hippies. (Don't confuse beatnik rock with beatnik jazz. The beatnik jazz is way better and actually they were the first hip people too)
@A M LOL
Wet sand - rhcp
The mighty powerful dangerous Led Zeppelin
I don't know how you could possibly share this with someone else.

the majesty of Robert Plant and James Patrick Page, with John Paul Jones and John Henry Bonham...Musical gods once walked among us, children...you will never see their like again...but they left you the gift of their music
Great fucking song
Can hear the influence of their time at Bron-Yr-Aur on this one...
good call, fellow zeppologist
This always, ima flyin!!! Over n above!!! Mvto!!! Ever time!!!
I listened to these guys and the Stones and Aerosmith and other classic rock when I was 12 to 14. Then I heard the Clash and the punk movement and then Gang of Four and Mission of Burma and Minutemen post punk and then Fugazi. It's all mine. I love them all for helping me survive in this crazy world.
4:30 to 4:50 at my funeral please. 😁🙏
Robert Plant’s last great vocal performance. He and Eddie Vedder destroyed their voices early on and were never the same. Shame.
I was born in1971 .love zepplin
Jan '73 here, but been huge zep fan since appox. April '72, rocking to stairway in utero
Love every LZ song, same as with CCR. That's a rare event.
Lol just listened to Lodi then came here so there's one more of us!
Over the hills and far away teletubies come to play
Final 40 seconds of this song hits completely different. It gives a warm, lovely feeling like you got your love in your arms embracing each other. Oh so beautiful
this is my favorite zepp song
Thank you Robert:-)
Over the hills and far away was recorded in 1972 but released in 1973.
Someone just drove by my street with this song at full volume and I wish I was friends with them so bad
good song really
If this is not Led Zeppelin, this song must have been their biggest hit.
Nope. "Stairway To Heaven" and "Whole Lotta Love". This was a pretty minor hit (1973). My favorite though.
90's baby here
Que música! Acabei de conhecê-la por uma citação da autora lisa kleypas em um dos seus livros, da série os Hathaways. Estou encantada ❤️
Learned how to play this on guitar as my first song and it's easy as hell and a blast to play in public because most people know what the song is :))
I never realized how creepy this cover art is... because when it came out I didn't think of it. Now that I am I'm wondering if the over saturation of puritanical & political/cultural correctness has left me with scars. I'm being serious. There was a time in the 70's when liberals like myself appreciated cultural freedoms and weren't horrified by nudity in America. Violence scares me more to be honest but we gobble that up here and cover the puke with thoughts and prayers.
Name one Rolling Stones song that is as good....clock's ticking.
Led Zep...not much else to say
F*ck Freebird, Play some Zepplin!!!
And the best thing is - they can do it just as good (or even better) live
Thank you Led Zeppelin for lifting my weary soul from despair. 🙏❤️
Still sounding mighty fine in 2019 whose with me
Reals baby
Whole universes open up here from the British geniuses. All hail Zep
To Corey Aasen I agree with you. Anybody who doesn't like Zeppelin has got to be stupid f**king idiots
as a teen in the 70's we had great music and zeppelin was a great band
The first minute of the song could be called: The soul's peace. It always calms me, a really refreshing song.
The template for another every bit as good song but one that passed under the public radar.

Jason Falkner is a unknown genius.
The perfect song to relax 💜😌
If you don't like this .you must have a real problem
The last 20 seconds are the best part of the song
I've yet to hear a bad Led Zeppelin song. Even Moby Dick is great
JIAMJSMKOK 10 The Harvest of the New Heaven and Earth is in Jesus name Amen
Any Gen Zs? 🙋♀️
Rock on with Robert Plant!!!
Somebody help me. There's a 16 yr. old kid in my house who won't leave since I put this album on.
I’m 14 and this is my favorite song by far. I get called weird for listening to this in school. They just don’t understand the true art behind it.
Kid...you've got your right path, a stairway to heaven.
No one calls anyone a weirdo for listening to Led Zeppelin hahaha.
We're called old souls
Didn’t happen
the end of the URL says DANk
Fav song!👌😊
One of the best rock bands of all time!
Some years ago a band I was in delved into Led Zeppelin occasionally. For such purposes, the rhythm guitarist handed his Les Paul over to me. Other than those occasions, I did just fine with my Stratocaster....
Best of all time? Hang it up. Just like this song, starts out great but turns into a loud ramble.
Revolution? The Breeze? Layla? Etc.....
Greatest band ever not even up for debate
The drums at 1:27, the timing is different and so brilliant. They do this throughout the song but just so clever.
Mellotron is it word that only leaves you guessing. Love that mellotron meltdown at the end
Peak songwriting. If it gets better than this it’s not of this earth. But probably a galaxy over the solar system and the Milky Way...
My and My husband's favourite song, R.I.P. Love!!!
Sounded so good when i was 18 yrs old..and sounds just as good to me at 65 yrs old today in 2019;
seeing that we are listening LZ at the same time EST for the US means something? They went heavy and lite at times but you have to see or feel the changes and enjoy them. This what we you called back in the day Head music.?We didn;t have to dance around???we just enjoyed it? Now did we also with friends listen to other music?Yes we did ...did i also listen to some Motown? I did and we at that time did we also appreciate other music..? some did and some didn't let us just be real but for most case we did.if an old motown song came on the radio today there a good chance i knew some of the lyrics and at the same time i guess the people that heard LZ song can say the same?
@onebigkahuna69 i realized that for me its been from 16-19yrs of age
same here. best decade.
I heard it from my brother when I was little and I just rediscovered it years later and had lots of good memories brought back
Yeah it does...✌
Perfect build up to 1:27 when Thor smashes his hammer. No reason to cut in the drums gradually. Love it!
The Mighty sound of the Zeppelin will never...ever...be equaled, much less surpassed
Gets no better
come back to this song all the time
Trying to learn this on guitar wish me luck!
rock on
I was 18, in high school, drove a 1969 GTO. Friends and I would meet up at the drive-in every Friday night (and Thusdays during summer break). Drink and smoke a little, chase the cute girls. That was our dating site. One on one human interaction... No cell phones, texting, internet, facebook, snap chat, instagram,... No one was on any depression or anxiety meds... Never heard of ADHD, ADD or OCD... Music, friends, concerts, hanging out at the lake was our cure for most anything.. Didn't know anyone drawing disability, most everyone worked.. Levi's were made in america and fit perfectly off the shelf.. Everyone was normal size, only one fat kid in school.. Never knew (or cared) that Freddy mercury from Queen was gay.. Paid cash for everything.. If we couldn't afford it, we didn't buy it, no big deal.. All my friends parents (including mine) were married.. Divorce was a word seldom heard.. Went to church, and sometimes my friends church too.. No school shootings.. Hell, I built a cross bow in woodworking class.. Good times...

1968 changed my world

Real shit right here
you know it
This song made me buy a 12 string guitar. Turn that mother UP!!!
Led Zeppelin keeps me sane when the levee breaks
Same. Whenever I feel stressed or I am pissed off about something, Zeppelin always helps me out of it.
Sadly, those girls on the album cover are now old hags.
I like how their first 2 albums were pure rock n roll, then the 3rd was folk influenced, then the 4th and 5th were an epic combination of both, and they ended it on being a pure hard rock band. Beautiful
My neighbors love led zeppelin but they have no choice
Never gets old
