I have never heard this song until today and I almost fell out my chair because it sums up my life in more than one way.  I have been struggling for a long time, questioning if God really loves me and why i'm living in this hell.  I have even thought about taking my own life.  It's not about the song it about the words between the words.  God is speaking through Lecrae to  so many who can't speak for themselves.

Yeah, I saw that, too. And, a lot of this song comes from Psalms 51, David's prayer for forgiveness after his affair with Bathsheeba (dunno how to spell it, lol). Lecrae did a good job with this song.

@J Estrada If God didn't allow bad things to happen why would we need him? If God made everything perfect for us we wouldn't need him and if we're honest would we even love God or would already have everything and throw him to the side. God gave us free will to choose him or not, to break the law or not but he is always there with us ready to forgive and show us more of his awesome grace. 

@J Estrada All fall short of the glory of God everyone has a choice to accept God into their lives and go to heaven just the same as they to do to live for themselves and world with hell after it. You have to have a relationship with God reading the Bible and praying doesn't get you into heaven it is not your works or the works of any man. I am not a Christian because i go to church, read the Bible and pray, I go to church, read the Bible and pray because I am a Christian. 

@Andrew Day a wonderful quote from a wonderful person.  " God allows us to be the authors of our life, that's  the beauty of free will."  I don't have all the answers brother, I agree there are  horrific things that happen in this world.  But that's all the more reason why to yearn and seek him.  This world is not corrupted because of God but because of us.  Our sinful nature, I hate sin and the horrific and terrible things it brings, but the beautiful thing is that God reveals himself through all that by his Glory,  and as corruptable as we are he still overwhelms with his mercy and grace. A father that loves us so much that even though we continue to deny him, He STILL loves us.   That to me is incomprehensable.  God Bless you brother.

The key word is "i" in that sentence. His focus should be on the beauty, wisdom, power, and grace of God. The whole song is about him. Those who follow this mindset will find his music inspiring. Those who know God will find this music "redundant" and "narcissistic". Not praise worthy.
