I love my vets and i love what they allow me to do everyday. A few friends from high school had joined the air force right out of high school and are safe in japan, but i thank all the vets i come across. I wasnt allowed to serve myself due to asthma but i always wished to be a marine. My biggest pet peeve is to see some nice comments supporting our troops and than some jerk commenting negative things. Its just the worst. Thanks again to all the vets that keep me and my family safe! Hoorah!

My plane is a cargo refueled 870000120 . Was her tail number . You would know her . The only one we have stainless steel galley . Lavatory. And such . Was that kid under the wing as well pumping fuel into a plane that hold 320k pounds of fuel with a Haskell pump that at best pumps 400 gallons a minute. Average is about 200 . U do the math when your ass is burning in 130 heat in afganistan. How long it would take to fill up a tanker . And we bombed the shit outta Baghdad. And we made it home . My own blood flew over Baghdad. I cut my hand wide open on a wing nav light lens that shattered as I put it in place . My brothers left my blood on the plane to fly that mission . Changing a stupid bulb . And its 130 degrees. That lens was probably to stressed . I dunno . I remember the good and the bad and the in between

Taking ground fire in a kc10a . Scary didn't faze me . Dropping of guns and blood my first run I thought nothing of it till I seen the cargo coming home . Some flights tanks . Shot at many a times in a plane that dont shoot back . Was just a 19 year old kid . Who sowed on two stripes for an early enlistment. Just a wrench turner. Crew chief. Went everywhere with my plane . I try to forget those missions . And I would tell a a buddy of mine as bullets flew by red as hell . It's ok those are just shooting stars . And it made no difference. We were all scared . Pissed off . And torn up

This it's the most tear jerking song I ever heard . And probably will. Touched me something deep. Airforce vet . Ran a few flights that where guns and donated blood bags . Picked up the brave that gave all and headed home . Sick sight to see . Even the brave that that were wounded . Those flights haunt me from time to time .

To my brother who was KIA November of 1970 US Army was wrapping up his 3rd combat tour in Vietnam shot down flying into a hot LZ and to my AG "STORK" and to my medic "DOC WABBIT" GOD only knows how much I love and miss y'all I've ran that firefight through my brain and I can't for the likes of me if I could've done something different..I'm sorry I hope y'all forgive me we were just punk teenagers back then now I turn 60 and I'm a grandfather GOD called y'all home that day and when he calls me home I hope you too forgive me and will sit down and have a cold beer and a good cigar with me.

My dad served for 28 years and has been shot 5 times. Everytime he would be redeployed, I was so scared he wouldn't come back. His job was one of the most dangerous in the military. When I hear songs like this it makes me tear up because I think about what if he wouldn't have came back home.

Just heard this song for the first time. I listen to country all the time but this is new to me. Made me cry and just want to say Good Bless the men and women serving today. My husband died from Agent Orange and Nam. Still miss him today

I cry every damn time

My wife's name Is Amelia but we call her Amy when this song came out i was leaving for my 4th tour and it made this soldier cry when I saw her break down she stood by me for alot of deployments and as a green beret we don't have months before we leave we get pur orders and were gone in days. I'm now retired 100% disabled due to many injuries from combat and retiring was the hardest thing I had to do still is but I have a great woman who supported me since the day she married me and being married to a soldier especially one who's constantly away on combat missions anyone who's been in direct combat never comes home the same and it's hard on spouses who take alot of our shit and when your not a regular soldier but special forces your always in the shit and can't talk about any missions you've done unless the classification changes I couldn't even tell her where I was going alot unless it was Iraq or Afghanistan other places I've been we weren't supposed to be there but when your group or team is called up and it's your turn you don't question the orders you just follow them and pray you all make it back and aren't captured and on the news and the us government will deny they sent you there or you even exist and if.you survive integration or torture you spend life in some foreign shit hole prison for life unless both sides agree to a prisoner exchange. So songs like this have so much meaning to me.
