Her guitar is a Martin cut away. VERY expensive. Looks like they've mic'ed inside the guitar judging by the black tape going into the sound hole. Probably using one of those little furry condenser mic's she is wearing.

its a D-16 GT. Its not really that expensive. A base model of sorts.

I'd like Paul McCartney and Bob Dylan's opinions of this artist.

I wouldn't call it a ripoff. Joni Mitchell is a vastly under-rated genius whose musical influence is widely felt and yet her fame is not on par with her importance.

They might ask why you needed their opinion? Wouldn't you want to make up your own mind?

Joni is great history, Marling is today,very unique,and is a great live performer! I ‘m in my ‘70’s have seen them both.My nod goes to Laura!!

Each genre tends to have a king/queen of their generation. Pop has Michael Jackson transitioning to Justin Timberlake. Rock has chuck berry transitioning to led Zeppelin and again to Foo Fighters. It doesn't end. Music is an inspired art, and unless she's literally copying songs and calling them something else, you shouldn't accuse her of theft. Laura has become the new queen of folk whether you want to admit it or not. And she's shy and humble. She denounces fame the world keeps trying to give her. If you don't understand that all music is derived from past music as inspiration, you don't fundamentally understand music itself and shouldn't have opinions to give on music.

Also, she's covered Dylan. Her major influences were Neil Young, Joni, Dylan, Led Zeppelin, etc.

Elton John himself said in an interview that he wishes BBC radio would play more real thought evoking music like Laura Marling. Everyone worth anything loves her. I haven't heard a single poor review from other musical legends about her.
