If you think this is the dog's bollocks (and it is) check out the extra reprise version of it. Track 14 on their self titled album. They take it a completely different direction that will blow you away all over again.
If you don't know by the way "Dog's bollocks" is a quaint expression here in U.K and means totally fucking epic, because after all you'd lick your own as well if you could wouldn't you !

Bridget is my new favorite bass player. Everything she does is just so tasty. Guys, guys? Yes, there's another female in the band. No, not that one. Over there to the right. Just behind the thing that looks like a biiiig violin.

I know it will sound churlish with all the great players in the band, but the guitarist should keep away from the trumpet IMO. I get the idea that being a little off can be fun but I reckon he's just plain old not good at the instrument. Its not enjoyable to listen to

I think maybe the trumpeter was trying to not be too loud and damage their hearing in such a close space. Other wise it's much more vibrant in other sessions. But I love it all the same. Thank you LSD

They all play instruments. Rachel's just happens to be a voice instrument. They are all so bloody good but that voice. Lord!

Yea. The more I listen to her, it becomes very obvious her voice is absolutely an instrument.

Not many people you can say that in bands these days. But then again, Rachel got trained in jazz, so with her it's a combo of God given talent and education.

The cool thing is it never seems robotic, her sound is always organic and natural. No offense to the other 3, but it's the best instrument the bands got.

this song blew my mind

I was going to say the trumpet player needs to play the rhythm guitar for a  fuller sound, but he is so good at the trumpet. And if a rhythm guitar is played to provide  a fuller sound, it may drown out the genius of the bass player. And the lead female vocalist is so good, it doesn't matter what is done. So I guess if it ain't broke, leave it alone.

in the spirit of "getting through a 3 minute song without sounding stupid", you should look at that trumpet solo.   The intro needs work.  The ending seems fine but it is really rough up front.  Overall, I think what you guys are doing is phenomenal.

Well, a gig on Conan, last week and a non-stop nationwide tour is not exactly obscurity!! The Conan performance was uh, less moving...to my tastes....very pop-80's. They have some GREAT material! I wonder if they write all their songs. Seems very powerfully collaborative....just tight. She has more talent in her vocal cords than anyone I've heard since Amy WInehouse. DONT mistake me for meaning a comparison!! I'm so not!!! Just saying.... I worry about what happens when sweet, great groups get super-trendy. It's not always a better sound or as authentic or personal. Pays some bigger bills, though! 

They do a few covers, but all 4 are songwriters and contribute to the whole.  Interesting master class they did at NEC on songwriting.  Check it out, search "Songwriting masterclass at NEC" on YouTube.

I LOOOVE that the main accompaniment to That  Voice is a sweet steady rhythm and a KICKIN' upright bass!!!! Perfect dynamics on the trumpet. Needs to practice more, though. :)

Every time I hear LSD Bridget's bass playing blows me away. If she's not shredding it, she's picking out some of the cleanest sharpest notes you'll ever hear from a standing bass. And she even wrote the song as well. Super talent!
