Labi Siffre - It Must Be Love Lyrics

I never thought I'd miss you half as much as I do
And I never thought I'd feel this way the way I feel about you
As soon as I wake up, any night, any day
I know that it's you I need to take the blues away

It must be love, love, love
It must be love, love, love
Nothing more nothing less love is the best

How can it be that we can say so much without words
Bless you and bless me baby, bless the bees and the birds
I've got to be near you, every night, every day
I couldn't be happy baby any other way

It must be love, love, love
It must be love, love, love
Nothing more nothing less love is the best

As soon as I wake up, every night, every day
I know that it's you I need to take the blues away

It must be love, love, love
It must be love, love, love
Nothing more nothing less love is the best

It must be love, love, love
It must be love, love, love
Nothing more nothing less love is the best

This song always seems to be played on the radio late at night. Mind you, it is a kind of relaxing song,.

  2. morbeus Morbeus

The first time i heard this was at a party at Christmas 1971; the same night my first love dumped me. I walked into a darkened room and there she was, dancing with her arms around another guy's neck and her tongue wrestling with his tonsils.

  3. Robert cooper

Great song that brings back really good memories!

  4. ppcasey9

One of the best love songs ever...…..any other way just wouldn't be right....

    Reggie Howarth

You are so rite about that P P casey .Always takes me back to the 70s and a girl I was in love with but unfortunately she wasnt in live with me
Lived over the road from my grandparents place who I was staying with un the 70s She was unbelievable..she was 17 and I was 23 so one day got the courage up to ask her out to a concert but she declined saying that she was going out with her girlfriend .oh well .thats life I guess .

Used to go to pool parlours after watching the Bombers in the 70s in coburg with a friend of mine and I whould put this song on the .juke box every time I loved it.

  9. Jmm Van Paassen

    Great song at the 70

  10. Ahmed Mecheri

La vie est belle👍🏾😎👍🇫🇷❤️❤️🌹🌹c'est juste magnifique

  11. TheBitsBetween

I like both versions. This one and Madness's. I like that Madness took a different approach and didn't just do a straight cover. They're like two completely different songs and they are both excellent.

    J. Angelo Alconaba

Trivia, as a nod and respect to Labi, Madness included him in their music video. He is one of the violinists. He is the one that took of his glasses.

    Steven Kaye

    no they're not

    Ray Gaskell

They both sound very similar to me, pace and emotion just different singers.

    Colin Braddock

This version feels so much more joyful somehow...hence why I prefer it.

    Gary Twitchett

I never liked the Madness cover. It's a Beautiful Gentle Song, Madness hit a Butterfly with a Sledgehammer, I hated that . I love Madness' other tracks

  12. Julia McIntyre

    Fantastic, unbeatable.

  13. R MCK

    So Wonderful and Uplifting.

  14. Vivi Willems

    Pure simplicity and so beautiful..

  15. Steve Southall

Just loved the 70s music what a great time to be around

    Hari Dhimal

My time travel machine is almost ready. Are you in ?

  16. Mark

Had this as our wedding song

  17. Eileen James

The one and only definitive version! 💜 It must be Labi, Labi, Labi!

    RedLightSpellsDanger

Eileen James / come on Eileen! 😋 good taste Eileen: this is the original and best version 😎🤗

    awol2602

musically so much better arrangement than the Camden geezers

    RedLightSpellsDanger

awol2602 they did a good job though! You can’t be an original

    awol2602

@RedLightSpellsDanger that's true and some covers are even better than the original. I love early Madness but just can't really like their version of this one for some reason -

  18. Lolly and Helen

The best version and the original version. Better than Madness!

    MrLeftygoldblatt

    Definitely

    Dave Wolfy

Agreed, but Labi played on the Madness version, good on 'em.

    Theyoungladd

    Its alright

But madness is so much better

    Dr Diablory

Pretty ashamed to admit I don't know much about this dude. First discovered him when I found out that Eminem's "My Name Is" was taken from Siffre's "I Got the..." which is just mind-blowingly fucking brilliant.
