Magellan is not a Conquistador but a Navigator/Explorer. This movie was created for the 500th Aniversary of the First Voyage Around the World done by Elcano and Magellan.

1. Cilacilapu isn't the villain of the movie instead it is Da Costa and Yago, Da Costa was the Ambassador of the Portuguese King, he was in charge of making the Expedition Fail. The Portuguese sent him so they cannot lose their monopoly on Spices. Yago was secretly under Da Costa and embarked on the expedition to making it Fail.

2. Elcano and Magellan was Explorers not Colonizers, they are Explorers, trying to explore the world.

3. It is not about the colonization of the Philippine Islands, it is about the first voyage around the world. It was Miguel Legazpi who colonized the Philippines

I do not think it's fair that they depicted Lapu-Lapu as the villain in the movie. He was only defending his island from conquerors. In the Philippines, Lapu-lapu is our very first hero. Just because our country is not as powerful as yours.
