L.A. Guns - Long Time Dead Lyrics

When I came down to your riverside
And saw you standing there
Pocketful of moonbeams
You had henna in your hair

And I never felt so lonely
Got the feeling I can't shed
Yeah, it might seem like a premonition
But you're a long time dead

Gonna be a long time dead
Misery the devil's in my head

The seasons had already turned
The wind began to howl
A change of fortune is what I need
And there was little doubt

That they had never heard my testimony
Not a single word I said
Yeah, the judge he whispered in my ears
Gonna be a long time dead

Gonna be a long time dead
Misery the devil's in my head

Took you to your riverside
And saw you standing there
Pocketful of moonbeams
You had henna in your hair

And I never felt so lonely
Got the feeling I can't shed
And it might seem like a premonition
But you're a long time dead

Gonna be, gonna be a long time dead
Long time dead

Dirty Luv OFF hollywood Vampires rip off. Sad when you have to rip yourself off because you just wanna cram another worthless album out to make money off of.

  2. J.... B....

Oh ya l.a guns!! One of there best songs ever!

  3. O.... S....

    Outstanding video and music

  4. L.... W....

Most underrated album ever. They were incredible there, even when everyone knew it's the last one for a long time. I still love it and I wish they would play Long Time Dead live again

  5. a.... ....

  6. R.... ?....

Long time dead. No one talks concepts. Are we dead, are we alive. What is dead and what is alive? My friendship is dead.

  7. P.... ....

    Damn cool song.

  8. K.... A....

Why didn't anyone tell me about 90s la guns?

    K.... A....

great album ..... i dig the tune, "FACE DOWN"

When you start to look/sound like u2 videos you know you threw away your metal/punk legacy...

    S.... M....

First the disclaimer: I love LA Guns, Vicious Circle is my favorite Guns album (may have something to do with the fact that it was the very first one I got.... but I digress....), I feel that there is no weak song in there, and I really like Long Time Dead.... having said all that.... I'll be the first to admit that this video does indeed look a lot like a U2 video.... mute it, and you'd think you're watching an Anton Corbijn video.... but also in fairness, a lot of 90's videos look like that.... and as far as the song itself.... as much as I like it, I also have to admit that it was a bit of an odd choice for the first (and only) single.... both songwriting and production wise, it sounds radically different from the usual LA Guns fare.... may be related to the fact that it is the only song on the album not to feature a drummer, but rather a programmed rhythm on a drum machine.... anyway, people judging Vicious Circle solely on the sound of this song would be badly misled, and that may have been part of the problem back in '95.... oh well....

  14. S.... M....

LoL everything they did from 1989 on started to sound like re-runs/ripoffs/re-cycles from slower songs on Cocked and Loaded. Only lightweight, less metal, more pop.

  15. M.... ....

Many hair bands were not able to successfully channel the zeitgeist of the 90s. L.A. Guns nailed it perfectly.

  16. S.... ....

This is their best music video and one of their best songs. Love LA Guns.

  17. L.... ....

Very under-rated Album, The last of the so-called original line-up............

  18. M.... G....

L.A. Guns original line up rules i listen to them since they started they still rock whatever its tracii or phil L.A.Guns but i would love them to reunite

  19. A.... M....

go and listen hollywood rehearsal... got another version of the song.. and it's very cool.

  20. H.... ....

the Glam Rock style was out and rocking the scene at the end of the 70's and early 80's. Apettite came out in 1987. Thats 7 plus YEARS BEFORE G'n'R's his the scene.

  21. H.... H....

    This track kicks ass!

  22. c.... w....

@berkamilan You don't have to swear you meathead, but I guess it's easy when you are hiding behind a computer. GnR weren't mainstream of course, but songs like sweet child and paradise city became mainstream that's why they are so popular now. At the time they were big tracks on mainstream radio. Why didn't tracks like nightrain and anything goes make it as big and be the popular ones now? Of course they don't appeal to everyone even though they are some of the best tracks ever written!

  23. M.... B....

    @canigetanoorah
that's bullshit... in 80's GnR style wasn't mainstream, it became mainstream after Apettite succes. So they maybe rock harder but GnR songs weren't mainstream.

  24. R.... G....

YEAHHHHHHHHHHH so good song is fantastic
VERY GOOD ALBUM VICIOUS CIRCLE 1994
LOS ORIGINALES L.A. GUNS son lo maximo Y ESTE DISCO TAMBIEN ES MUY BUENO yeahhh GREETINGS SINCE PERÚ

  25. k.... ....

This album definitely doesn't get it just dues!!!

  26. c.... w....

I've always thought that LA Guns are so much better than GnR, when you compare both bands debut albums LA Guns rocks harder and there aren't any mainstream tracks in there!

  27. S.... ....

@MrDavidlouallen slash never played in la guns... he replaced tracii guns not so long after guns n roses was created out of la guns (tracii guns, ole bleich and rob gardner) and hollywood rose (axl rose and izzy stradlin), all members from la guns were replaced eventually, but they kept the name

  28. R.... ....

top class... thanks for posting it!! this vid is really rare

  29. f.... ....

Playing in Copenhagen 29/09-09 oh yeah!

  33. h.... ....

    awseome CD

  34. m.... ....

    vicious circle SHREDS..............

  35. c.... ....

very underated song and album for that matter

  36. W.... A....

hollywood rose was actually a pre-g'n r band that featured axl and izzy, not tracii guns. however traci did play in an early formation of g'nr.

  37. m.... ....

    vicious circle SMOKES.

  38. A.... K....

i bet it sounds better live, the clean over polish mix castrated the sleazy signature la guns sound!

  39. c.... ....

uno de los mejores temas de su dilatada discografia
    larga vida

  40. *.... E....

    Real music.

    This will never die out.

Positive comments show happy people on YT.

  41. r.... m....

people change and so do la guns ive seen them live and they were bad ass in 89 and they just matured for a pro band to do that is a fete in it self there are naturals in the world and this is a group full of them rock on la guns

  42. L.... S....

wow this is really good....I thought they were kaput... Philly baby... LOL

  43. C.... d....

    awesome video

  44. M.... ....

This was totally L.A. Guns trying to save their failing career in the mid-90's by adopting a more "alternative" image and sound to be able to gain acceptance in the trend of that time LOL

  45. L.... ....

cool vid. very artistic. i can see why Mtv passed it over. I find that overlooked music by LA Guns and others to be some of the best music out there. This is one of my favorite albums.
