La Dispute - Nobody, Not Even The Rain Lyrics
I know that someday you'll be sleeping, Darling, likely dreaming off the pain
I hope you'll hear me in the streetlight's humming, softly breathing out your name
I know that even with the seams stitched tightly, darling, scars will remain
I say we scrape them from each other, darling, and let them wash off in the rain
And when they run into the river, oh no, let the water not complain
Your hands still catch the light the right way and
Our hearts still beat the same
And our hearts still beat the same

I love this song so much.
Dracula Song by Peter (Jason Segel)
Woe is fuckin me! Do these guys even mean any of the overdramatic stuff they write?
um okay....
Such beauty. You can hear the emotion. It really helps me process things when I'm having a rough time emotionally. Thx la Dispute.
I fucking love these lyrics but I can't stand the sound and that annoys me immensely.
La Dispute is now one of my favourite bands 🖤
this song reminds me of when i was in hs and i would tell myself it would all get better. it still hasn't really but i still have hope lol. this is one of the few songs that can actually make me break down and cry. so much emotion
another day of pain
was looking through some old music and found this. can't believe I used to like this stuff. but this sounds like a older morty from rick and morty . idk. maybe I'm trippin
the only band that makes me feel something..
Scars will remain...
i was crying to this band all night last night, hes so deep and in his voice you can just tell hes hurting. its so skillfully crafted as well. nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands
i really _don't_ normally listen to (scr)emo, but this record is a totally twisted work of fucking art.
i have a very close friend who recently just passed awaya few days ago in a car accident

5-16-16
I love how broken and sad and desprete he sounds through his voice. Is Amazing yet saddening at the same time. I love it
I'm trying to find other awesome songs like this, comment some other awesome songs for me to listen to please ^_^
Nick Lugo literally any la dispute
uhm can you not
Saetia.
Lydia this is twice now. Is a good song.
can't wait see you guys.
His voice is so complex like it sounds like it's been through so much and you can feel the emotion he portrays so well with it. He almost sounds broken.... Kind of like a toy that is running out of batteries
He kind of sounds like a cat being raped with a screw driver.
Austin Rowe 😂 no
Vinny Bean you are a faggggot
I like to think of The Last Lost Continent and Nobody, Not Even The Rain as one singular entity, beyond just the fact that the former leads into the latter. As one, they create possibly the best finale to an album that I've heard yet. The Last Lost Continent is an absolutely epic piece, and more than that, it's a journey. Both instrumentally and thematically, The Last Lost Continent slowly builds up to a fantastic and emotional climax to perhaps the entire album, then fades into Nobody, Not Even The Rain shortly after, giving closure to not only the album but more specifically to the previous track. In addition, it also serves as a reprise to the first track, not necessarily coming back around full circle but perhaps resolving the tension brought forth in the beginning of the album.
Too bad my english isn't good enough to understand all the lyrics :(
Бля, сука, до слёз(
This song always reminds me of you...I wish you hadn't left...
Made me cry... something about the sincerity in these lyrics, and that voice!
Shrieking cats and angsty men make me cry too.
Can someone please explain what the meaning is behind this song? It sounds beautiful, but I just want to know a little more about the background along with the poem that I know was kinda used or inspired with it.. Anyway, any answers would help!
listen to such small hands first...I think that'll help
💜💜💜
Darlingcore
Kind of reminds me if defeater
i wish they had sang this when i saw them live 😓 but they were great either way ;u;
Love the lyrics! Pairs beautifully with 'such small hands,' of course...
So beautiful. So much passion and love for what he's talking about. This is true talent.
i Wrote these lyrics to my gf in my suicide note last year
i love this song
it reminds me that everyone struggles and no ones alone
+Miguel Loureiro probably should kill yourslef
+tiny bean o your a disgusting human being
+tiny bean o why are you so fucking immature and rude
+tiny bean o because I'm not gonna listen to some ramndom dumbass who doesn't even know me
+tiny bean o how original
I can't even bear to read comments on la disputes songs, peoples opinions bring tears to me eyes.
Dat pain in his voice
open your minds and expand your musical horizons. if you don't understand it there's no reason to be mean
All people do is bitch and moan and call him names..are you serious? He pours out his heart and soul and makes it into a beautiful song to see if anyone can relate, and all in the comments it's just people bitching.
Nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands
Oh my god... You just blew me mind 😱
This guy's a whiny bitch....
@TKGAEguitarist can we not agree that your brain cannot comprehend musical poetry of this form and that you use excessive amounts of swear words?
fuck you
As much as I like La Dispute this made me laugh
fuck you hater trash
uh you sound like a whiney bitch, GTFO
Why the hell is this song only a minute long?!
cause it's part two of another song. plus, sometimes short songs can be simple and beautiful. complexity is confusing sometimes.
I need more!! It's so good!!
go search such small hands, it's the first part
Thanks haha you're a life saver
"i know that even with the seams stitched tightly, darling scars will remain."
Is this like a part two to such small hands? I'm confused
Yeah, there's an E E Cummings poem that ends with the quote "nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands"
it's a really great poem
@Blair Carlyle it is called Somewhere i have never traveled, gladly beyond
amazing!
This song is so fucking good oh my god I get chills so hard
oh god that's so fucking depressing :'(
I really can't understand why people hate this like he's literally pouring out all his feelings combining them with gorgeous lyrics and people still find something to moan about -.-
HeyitsBee they must have there reasons...
I like this certain song because of how raw it all seems
This song brings out things I've not felt for a very long time...Things I thought I had buried, a very long time ago.
so f***ing beautiful...
their lyrics are simply breathtaking...
Deeply touched me. Bawling my eyes out.
Touched you in the nono spot
+Austin Rowe no no square
I think your thesis is bullshit
I think that one of the reasons this song is so beautiful is because it's so short. You just crave for more but nope. It's just this little piece of heaven.
Fuck. Them.
What did they say
why isnt this longer... T__T
this song in 8 bit... i listened to it... i dont know what to feel now... i love this song and all our bruised bodies...
La Dispute has such fucking good lyrics, but their music is just awful. It barely has a beat, and he says his lyrics; he doesn't sing them. However, I find myself reblogging the lyrics everytime I see them on Tumblr.
I hate all of you trendy little fuckers that only know this song, King Park, and Such Small Hands. None of you will even care for this band in a year or so.
"I know that even with the seams stitched tightly, darling, scars will remain."
*sobs uncontrollably*
I wish it was much longer..
I felt that way about the band entirely when I first heard them, but now I cannot seem to stop listening to them
I love when people fight over YouTube comments because its like literally impossible for people to just listen to a song without having a story behind it or someshit like that and then when they tell their story thing someone has to reply and put them down like good job you're all A+ people I can tell you're all gonna get far in life.
The short songs is what makes us rape the replay button.
Some of their songs need to be a lot longer.
omf this made me cry a little and it's such a short song
This is the second part of such small hands
THE FUCK WAS THE COMMENT
This reminds me of Enjolras and Grantaire for some reason and that makes me extremely sad.
i've literally listened to this song at least 500 times and I still get chills
OurHearts Still Beat The Same *:'(
its... interesting...
Idk y I like this all i listen to is rap
The whole album is a thing of beauty.
I used to dislike this song a lot, but I started giving it a chance and I think I'm in love now
what.
I just.. I've been listening to friggin such small hands for 3 months and just now I see this.
Haven't everyone gone through some hard times? I mean yeah some people go through more than others, that is for sure. But even the lucky one have experienced lost, heart brake, humiliation or something that affect them for the longest time and in a negative way
Wow, I wasn't prepared for this.
I didn't want to hate on your comment, I just don't like when people generalize something. Sometimes words like 'only' and 'everything' are simply false.
My mom likes La Dispute.
I'm so glad i clicked on this link. His voice is just fucking hot.
exactly, they always make songs with something that you're afraid to say and then they say it perfectly
If you haven't, then good for you. I wish I loved La Dispute before as much as I love them now, too. And congrats for understanding the feelings that the song brings, I'm sorry if it offended you.
I'm saying this because of the amout of people that come here and say things like "this is the worst thing I've ever heard in my life". I didn't like this kind of music either, but then I've been through some shit and it just didn't sound bad anymore, it was like he understood the emotions you're feeling. That's it, there's no need to spread hate all over my comment. And I'm not making anyone somehow better, it's just how I feel, I started understanding it after the things I've been through.
I absolutely love La Dispute, and i a big fan of post-hardcore, but i do actually understand why a lot of people dislike this, especially because of Jordan's voice. This is one of these bands that you most likely are either going to love or hate.
Are you stupid? This shit is raw as fuck. From the start to the end of the album.
I can't even discribe how beautifull this song is.
I don't know but it sounds like papaleta in that episode where they're in the karaoke :p
I completly agree with you. But people love to make a total victims out of themselves and it pisses me off. Like, can't they just comprehend their own crap and have to whine about this?
Exactly, fighting over who has the bigger problems is THE worst. Why anyone would want to compete to have the worst problems is beyond me, that's an argument i'd like to lose haha
Yeah, wait a second and someone will tell you that you can't understand this song because you have a good life and you usually were happily in love. Just... ugh, having problems doesn't give you second brain.
Thank you for this... it's complete bullshit to connect subjective, personal taste in music to how problematic your life is.
This shit's too real.
I hope not
Oh yes, let's get those who suffered higher. Let's make them somehow better, because something bad happened to them. Let's make them proud of their problems. How I hate this, god.
He may not have the best voice but he has such a way with words <3
At first I didn't like the whole vocals and screaming, but I fell in love with the lyrics. But now that I can relate to what hes saying and connect to it, I realize there was no other way but to do this song the way La Dispute did it. It's perfect. I love it so much.
