why is it sooo difficult to find the dirty version of this song????!?!?!?!!?!
thats what im saying. i can find the uncensored version but its not the full song..and if it is the full song then its censored. so i just gave up lol
Yu lovely people here commenting postive statements. Hopefully now straight Outta compton has come out it may kick start some old rap resurfacing.
This was the kind of music that make you think, while at the same time, make you have a good time, it was real, from the heart, filled with truth and soul, one part of the 90's I'll always remember back in my days of youth, when the real outweighed the bullshit
DWolfLycan III Hell Yeah
Talib's 2nd verse at 2:27 is not on the album. Been searching for that version for years. #INeedThat
This is real hip hop
I love Talib and Hi-Tek! ! They made great collabos together. I remember having posters of both of em in my room....
this was in my projects, i remember them shooting this as a child!
Still knockin in 2015
Talib Kweli came to be a little b4 his time. If he had come 5 to 10 yrs later he would've been received much better. Rap/ hip hop was still very much violent and ignorant in his prime yrs. Whosoever had a TRUE purpose at this time was overlooked.
Hip Hop...anyone peep Mos Def in the beginning?
The ultimate song to bump in your car.
thus song brings back good memories!
I saw this video early morning on MTV in 1999. Bought the CD that afternoon!
I bought this CD when it came out, still sounds good, I love that beat is hypnotic ! "revolutionary Im writing to show you what we fighting for" "even when we suffer losses I count the victory" I like all rap but this is like soul food lyrix ya know.
man this is music not all this fuck shit
one of my favorite rap songz.
Great song !!
So dope! I'm almost certain Hi-Tek sampled "Sorceress" by Return To Forever for this beat (The first few seconds)...
Prashanth Balagopal dam u might be right
This Might Just Be Tha Only Real HipHop Song I Hear On The Radio Nowadays
Now thats somethin' to break your neck to....feel good tunes, from the best of Rawkus I tell you....dope......too dope.....

Yooo, this is what hip-hop should sound like. Feel that vide?!
so fuckin minting
oh, shit i can't believe that this was over 10 years ago. Real hip hop go away that quick.
one of the best hip hop song. I love it
I had the pleasure of hearing Talib Kweli speak at my university. Made me love his music even more .
What goes around comes around dude. From extreme to extreme. Sure lil wayne drake and all those fools are supposedly the most famous but that doesn't make them the realist. I think more and more people are seeing what kind of fools these "rappers" are and more and more people are coming up that have content in their rhymes. Hip-Hop is still pretty young and increasingly growing. Don't count the people out yet.
The more struggle we see the more real shit we'll hear. It'll get better.
fucking censorship, let me hear 'double barrelled' and 'spliff'... not gonna start gangbanging
i dont think hip hop is dead its not mainstreen, its not as good as it was back in the day
but always gotta love these classsics yo ;)
ima female & i listen to real hip hop..
The male & female flexers @ 2:08 snapped in that rain.
Classic!
Commercial radio is dead, HIP-HOP IS STILL VERY MUCH ALIVE.
I always zone out when listening to this.
Timeless.
Hip- hop classic, no doubt. Timeless.

this some real hip hop... no one can dislike this
@jhazemusic
That's right, this song puts me back in the mid-90's
@olonamanolo please come with some possitivity and if not, don't say anything at all. at least if you're going to complain, use correct punctuation, and it's "Hip-Hop", not hip hop genius.
PROMO..........
IT WAS BECAUSE OF THIS SONG AND VIDEO THAT I PURCHASED, "REFLECTION ETERNAL" THIS IS MY FAVE SONG ON THE ALBUM!! REAL HIP HOP
That's just SICK!
I think this is when I feel in love with hip-hop....

I remember this song, and the message was outstanding. This made me respect Talib Kweli so much. He was a unique MC than these mainstream rappers. The production from Hi-Tek was pure genius! I'm so happy they reunited to release their new album, "Revolutions Per Minute."
