The reason why this is coming back, is because I literally just heard this song on the radio, so noooow... A year later, I have come to this. And sorry, but I had to post... It would seem no one has time enough to check. I can't hate anybody... Wouldn't make any sense, but anger is approved. Every one gets angry, and people say some crap they don't mean. There's no excuse however to be down right idiotic, and try speaking from a place in the 1800's as if they were sophisticated times, when what changed is.. People are not freaking sophisticated now. Rather than letting themselves come to a truth, or researching people like to name call, or use a justification that was proven indignified. So, long and short.. Poor mannered, unsophisticated, and rude. 

By 1790 the abolition movement was gaining credence in Canada and the ill intent of slavery was evidenced by an incident involving a slave woman being violently abused by her slave owner on her way to being sold in the United States. In 1793 Chloe Clooey, in an act of defiance yelled out screams of resistance. The abuse committed by her slave owner and her violent resistance was witnessed by Peter Martin and William Grisely.[15] Peter Martin, a former slave, brought the incident to the attention of Lieutenant Governor John Graves Simcoe. Under the auspices of Simcoe, The Slave Act of 1793 was legislated. The elected members of the executive council, many of whom were merchants or farmers who depended on slave labour, saw no need for emancipation. Attorney-General John White later wrote that there was "much opposition but little argument" to his measure. Finally the Assembly passed the Act Against Slavery that legislated the gradual abolition of slavery: no slaves could be imported; slaves already in the province would remain enslaved until death, no new slaves could be brought into Upper Canada, and children born to female slaves would be slaves but must be freed at age 25.

Some slaves were of African descent, but most were aboriginal (typically called panis, likely a corruption of Pawnee). Slavery within Canada's current geography was practised primarily by Aboriginal groups. Afua Cooper states that slavery is, "Canada's best kept secret, locked within the National closet."[3]

Immediatley I had to turn about. William Wilburforce had slavery in England abolished, and that carried to the colony. Portuguese enslaved natives too. Chinese enslaved 5% of their own people, so did India, taking Siddi as slaves. Arabs enslaved Indians, Africans, Turks enlsaved europeans. Nogai are the children of Mongolians and Europeans, of the Mongolian Horde. Mongolian women and children were enslaved by the Chinese.. For funny truth.. I'm mixed African-Mongolian, African-Native American.. I love my country, but will always try to be my own person. Proud to be Canadian, proud to be Mongzhe-Sfkullina. And no, I don't make my own name/identity because i'm seperatist. It's the same with Malagasy, and African-Indians, identities all their own. I have many mixed cousins, and many friends from different backgrounds. Also, i'm guessing you're all in elementary school? Those are just some of the worse things to happen.
