Kris Kristofferson - Under The Gun Lyrics

Break a man, break a promise
Break a heart, break a home
Take a long hard look at a heaven
Gone to hell under the gun

See the child, young and hungry
Growing wild, on the run
And he'll die reaching for freedom
He was born under the gun

Swollen men, blind with power
Break the rules, one by one
With their lies raising the danger
Of their games under the gun

No more time, no more chances
No more wars will be won
In the end only the losers
Hold the land under the gun

Hold the truth like a candle
Let it shine like the sun
On the love that's left to believe in
In a world under the gun

A good name for a song, maybe? Something like,"I forgot who I was when I made a deal with you Devil, whatever my name was then, he's dead long time gone, Ive called myself at least 3 different names since then, sorry but that deal is null and void . Sympathy for the Devil? I thought, but rolling Stones got it, wrote the right way, I figured 3 songwriters that I like, could probably make it (the theme?) (Idea?) into a pretty good song maybe.or all 3 take that idea and get thier own version and the world could have 3 instead of just one new song.anyway I thought kristofferson,John Prine, Dylan? Just thought and wanted to put it down somewhere before I felt like thinking more about if that stray thought didn't come up for awhile I might forget about it and my notebook is too far cause I'm not sure if it's any good material, more like still listening to kristofferson songs, Peace, I m outta here.

Roger Miller beschloss, drei Songs von ihm aufzunehmen: "Me and Bobby McGee", "Best of All Possible Worlds" und "Darby's Castle".

In diesem Jahr erschien auch Kristoffers zweites Album "The Silver Tongued Devil" und "The Silver Tongued Devil".

  45. T.... P....

I know I've commented before on your awesome posts but again I must say how lucky we are that you find these great posts. I'm going to see Kris at Casino Rama with the love of my life in January. I got sober after meeting Kris's the last time he was here. Now I'm still sober but in love...guy is good luck or what!? I'm pretty sure I've posted my story about meeting him. I was invited backstage (unexpectedly ) and was blitzed, he talked to me for about 15 minutes, admired my Waylon shirt and then when I shook his hand to say goodbye he would not let go of my hand and said "you alright?" I said I was fine (I wasn't ) and he then said "you would lie to me would ya?" As I left I could tell that he was looking at me and may have made a comment next to the person beside him, perhaps wondering if they should let me leave (I was driving sadly). A total stranger actually caring about drunken old me. ..sounds cheesy but it totally changed my life. Such a small (probably forgotten) gesture by him saved my life...never forget it.

    T.... P....

an amazing life story to last a life time...Glad you stayed sober...and with his amazing caring personality..i sure he prays you stayed sober ...thank you for sharing <3
