Kris Kristofferson - Maybe You Heard Lyrics

Maybe you've heard, your ole buddy's gone crazy
Searching for words, too deep, sweet reason and rhyme
Living alone, more and more and he's prone to be lazy
Turning to stone, blasted and blind.

Don't turn away there, hey, goddamn you, he was your brother
Turn on your father, sister, mother, brother
He was your friend.

Don't you condemn him, leave it to strangers
You ought to know him, give him a hand, if you can
But at least for jesus christ's sake, understand him.

Maybe you've heard that they say that the lady's been changing
Day after day, more than her mind
Learning to play, where the part has her turning to strangers
Going too far, line after line.

Don't turn away there - hey - goddamn you, you used to love her
Turn on your father, sister, mother, mister
She was your friend.

Don't you condemn her, leave it to strangers
You ought to know her, give her a hand, if you can
But at least for jesus christ's sake, understand her.

He sang this song when Rita left him for good, because of his philandering ways. He was shameless with his wanton ways. I wish I was one of his paramour 😔

@BOOMNERD51 I agree so much. No one should EVER speak badly about a blood brother/sister or a Lover after they have left your life. As Kris says - leave it to strangers to condemn them for their faults. You (and me) should keep our mouths clamped shut about anything salacious becuase we had the privilege of loving them. Family you CHOOSE is different than the family you were born into. If someone you once loved is sliding down the wrong ladder, help them as best you can, and if you can't help them, don't badmouth them. What does it say about the person who once loved someone for years and then turns around and has nothing but evil things to say? it says that the person saying evil crap is a wanker who had never been worthy of that love. That's my opinion.
