Kreviazuk, Chantal - Wild Horses Lyrics

For what its worth and this is only anecdotal, but this is Chantal in 1997. She had just released her first album and was starting to get heavy rotation on MuchMusic and was touring across Canada in support of Amanda Marshall. I saw her at the Centennial Auditorium in Saskatoon in May... it was just her and her grand piano without a back-up band. She came out and played about 5 songs total...her singles from Under These Rocks and Stones...her latest single being 'Surrounded'...and then ended it with this amazing version of 'Wild Horses'. I will never claim that this was recorded from that show in Saskatoon, but I certainly remember the preamble and will never forget this song. It is absolutely beautiful.

I thought it was Sarah mclachlan listening to it in a motel in boracay, she does amazing versions of many classics including Here there and everywhere; my girlfriend and I were parting for a few months not knowing what the future held, sitting in a public restaurant with tears rolling down my face,

I used to think this was Tori Amos since I heard it the 1st time over a decade ago. I found out it wasn't just a few minutes ago when I listened to this girl, Chantal, singing this same song on a diff vid

I have come across a few who actually go back and correct titles, etc.
My personal least favorite [of those who won't] are those who include lyrics that are incorrect (i.e. lyrics in the video description) and they never bother to correct them when it's pointed out in the comments.
It does suck I had to be an ass to so many people throughout this ordeal, not that I don't enjoy it from time to time, but so much got quite old.
Also of note: I am a debater and a truth seeker at heart. :P

Hey xKillerClownx ! Ever since I found this video, some years back now, I have come back here to listen to the excellent performance of this artist and watch those beautiful horses in the pictures. And so I have followed the debate in curiosity to know who sings this song. And to be honest I'm impressed by the way you have managed the situation (since 2008) patiently waiting for real evidence and all. Kudos! Not many youtubers would do that. I just wanted to say thank you for that :)

I've been studying this track for years, and I'd say wholeheartedly that it is Chantal. Jewel has a different quality about her voice that doesn't represent the performance here, and Tori Amos has specific notes/tones in her voice and piano scales that she typically uses which doesn't match this performance either.

Even though the artist in the video clearly states otherwise, get a grip. Trolling doesn't work well on my videos because I actually monitor the comments.

why would jewel sing a song with only a piano asaccompanyment ? doesnt make any sense her music has little or no keyboards..of course its chantal !!!!! any fan can instantly reconize that dynamic voice

@lornabucket I don't delete comments just because they are an opinion, or they fail to prove anything. I only delete comments from people who assert their opinion as if it were fact, when it is just an opinion. Or people who verbally abuse others over, what's again, an opinion.
I have nearly changed sides on the subject, and for me this is literally 50/50 between Jewel and Chantal, and until I see some substantial evidence, is where I will remain.

I had this same recording about 10 years ago and the mp3 was labeled as Chantal Kreviazuk. Also, if you listen to other live recordings of Chantal, her speaking voice sounds VERY similar. I realize this doesn't prove anything, so delete this comment if you want, but I believe it to be Chantal.

@mariananbc Yep, you sure can see that she covered this song (according to whoever created that website). Does that prove that this version is her? No. I even had a friend twitter Jewel the other day and ask her, though we got no response at all.

@cobraschlange Jewel was my favorite artist growing up, I had every single one of her albums and she does talk about doing this song live at one of her shows, 100% it is Jewel.

@mariananbc You will be able to see this song listed as a covered song by Jewel.. This was a non-album track meaning that it was spur of the moment, never recorded on an album and only done live

And neither of her Wild Horses covers either say "Jewel Cover". In fact, the first one says Rolling Stones...

this is not Charlotte its Jewel. you can see her performing a similar acoustic version under Nicole19021. you can play then over each other and hear it if you doubt that its her.
