Alison has always been one of the best voice out there. The purity of her voice is one of a kind.

After seeing this video several times, I have to say, as much as I love Emmylou, she can't hold a candle to this performance or Alison.  Maybe it's the slower tempo combined with Alison's demeanor, presence, and her incredible vocals that makes her #1 in my book.

Alison always presents herself with such grace.  She makes it look so easy to sing and play at the same time, not an easy feat.  But then again, all the great ones make it look easy.  I'm in awe of her every time she performs.  Thank God for bringing her to us.

This is breathtaking.

First saw Alison on the Masters of Violin tour in the late 80s when she was only 15. Seamus Connelly, the great Irish fiddler said of her, as a token of great respect of her fiddle talents "we hate her with affection". :) Listen up, she is a gift to all of us.

@Bama Keyman The piano player is excellent. A perfect balance of understatement and solid foundation.
But pianos do not move me in the same way that steel guitars and Alison Krauss do.

She sounds like a natural vocalist. Her style is natural as if she was never trained to sing. And she ALWAYS hits her notes dead on. I think she might have perfect pitch.

A duet with her and Linda Ronstadt would have been soul bending....

God sure blessed her with a very touching and Beautiful voice. Still great country music in 2019.

I like Alison Krauss, but in this instance it's an example of a singer over -singing the song and taking away the emotion of the song.Listen to Emmylou and compare it to this.

Yes I see what you mean. I listened to EH version as you suggested. You seem to be comparing two different things. Like apples and oranges. I see merit in both versions. What other posters seem to getting from AK is this "celestial" quality in her singing - beyond emotion almost. Beyond earth.

I was lucky enough to meet her at a concert in Knoxville maybe 10 year ago, and yes she is truly one oh America’s treasures, she always get right me in the feels.

Boy did she ever sing that, it was beautiful, Love this lady and her music.

Her last cd they used the most expensive mics for her........Shame as she just recorded "you don't know me".
If Sony RCA or whatever would get it together......we need her to do a duet with the only singer that could sing ballads with such emotion,vocal interpretation......Elvis...she just recorded two of his songs......it would be brilliant......with her delicate voice and his art of the love song.......she has sang with...some not deserving......I did like her duet w/John Waite....missing you...they should have won the Grammy for it.....she is just sublime....my fave.....!!
