Kraftwerk - Pocket Calculator Lyrics

I'm the operator
With my pocket calculator
I'm the operator
With my pocket calculator

I am adding
And subtracting
I'm controlling
And composing

I'm the operator
With my pocket calculator
I'm the operator
With my pocket calculator

I am adding
And subtracting
I'm controlling
And composing

By pressing down a special key
It plays a little melody
By pressing down a special key
It plays a little melody

I'm the operator
With my pocket calculator
I'm the operator
With my pocket calculator

The pocket calculator was a huge leap forward made possible by the technology used to go to the moon. A pocket Calculator cost $795 in 1974 which would be like ~$4000 now. It was the i phone of its time.

I was the first kid in my school to own a calculator. It was a Sinclair Cambridge and cost me a small fortune in AA batteries. I made it from a kit which cost £14.99 an took me a year to save up for. It had a divide by zero bug which would put it into a kind if super fast countdown mode.
