I liked Glasgow, but people there had an accent I couldn't decipher at all. I didn't need to, I could read a train schedule and I could order a Guinness and I could order a Jager.

Best part of MK is that he is not desperately trying to hang onto his youth like so many acts his music has matured like him and his audience and for that I am eternally gratefully

He did an interview, the guy asked him about the rock and roll hall of fame. The other guys in the band went to the presentation, the Knopflers didn't. He didn't say anything about David, but Mark said he's content where he is doing what he's doing.


I don't know how old you are, first I heard of them was Sultans of Swing when it was new. But the interview with Mark mentioned the Brothers In Arms album. It sold 30 million copies, I'd sort of forgotten how big they were back then, maybe the biggest rock music act on earth.

I have always appreciated the popular Dire Straits songs growing up, but this was the song that sent me down the rabbit hole of Mark's musical works. I have never looked back.....
