Nice song, but why Taylor Swift!?

I think the message of the song is how he spends all his time chasing after girls who are theoretically desirable, but always discovering he just ends up having to deal with all their BS problems (e.g. like every guy who's dated Taylor Swift). Then at the end he realises he was wishing for the wrong thing all along, and the girl that's right for him wasn't anything like a "Taylor Swift".
