Knight, Chris - I'm William Callahan Lyrics
I'm William Callahan
Used to be a ramblin' man
Left home at seventeen
Hopped a freight to Birmingham
Started poor as Kentucky coal
I've been cold as Alaska snow
Searching for the sun
It was a long time ago
I had a restless soul
Trains come and whistles blow
I let em roll
This is my wife Angeline
She used to be a cajun queen
Bourbon street, New Orleans
She had a will no man could tame
She took her chances when they came
Left with me on a midnight train
Searching for the sun
It was a long time ago
She had a restless soul
Trains come and whistles blow
She let em roll
Trains roll blowing steam
Through an old man and old woman's dreams
We look in each others eyes
There ain't a lot that we ain't seen
We'd be out there running tonight
But we've run the race and fought the fight
We think we did alright
It was a long time ago
We had a restless soul
Trains come and whistles blow
We let em roll

Chris Knight!!!!! Lovim!! from first album in 7 years and this song was the first song I ever heard of his on Outlaw radio Sirius XM radio Channel 60 they said any song of his they'd play. They love him too. He's a WOW! and my current favorite out there right now. Great music behind him, integrity, brilliant songwriting.
Thanks a lot, Chris!!!
This artist is new to me, glad a friend recommended this to me
So this isn't a continuation of William? That we've seen through the years? I'm confused
am an english guy , bout ten years older than Chris. over the years his songs have always been special to me. but im william callaghan is the first one put me in touch my own mortality. and it made me happy. thats the best songwriter in my lifetime.
"...put me i touch my own mortality and it made me happy". You said it all bro.
Bo keep it going. I'm glad you got on YouTube. It's how I listen everyday and hearing "The River" from another source chilled me to the bone and spoke volumes. Thank you.

Well done 👍
The man , thanks Chris great song ! 👍
I’ve been a fan from day one and after all these years, he’s still the absolute best. Genuine musical genius.
Your spoiling us Chris. Your music is perfect for driving round the hills of Connemara, Get your ass over here.
Great....mow I'm gonna need new speakers in my truck....
Dammit this new song is badass
He does our home state proud. Kentucky's had a long storied music tradition which includes the "Father of Bluegrass", Bill Monroe, and continues today with the likes of Chris Knight, Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson and Tyler Childers.
Don't forget Ian Noe.
Chris Knight, you can do no wrong - new album songs I have heard are great.
🤠🤠🤠
The guy can tell a story !!! Wow.
Hell yeah 😎
Perfection 🤘🏼👌🇺🇸🦅
