There's only a few female metal bands or bands with females that I have a great respect for: Vixen, Kittie, Lacuna Coil and Arch Enemy and that's because they don't or didn't rely on their looks or "cute" personalities to make it in a male dominated genre.

I disagree. I think Tara is an incredible guitarist. Fallon Bowman was the original guitarist and Talena Atfield was on bass, replacing Tanya Candler (all that from memory!). I much prefer 'Funeral for Yesterday' to the first three albums. So sad about Trish Doan.

Kittie's first 2 albums took out all the shitty parts of metal (especially Oracle) and made metal what it should be. The last 4 albums lack originality unfortunately. Until the End is fine but not on the same level as Oracle. They should've went into Industrial Death Metal. They're almost hard rock now. Almost.

I don't know what you are smoking but sonically, both In The Black and I've Failed You are heavier than Oracle... Faster paced riffs, much more double bass, more defined screams from Morgan while death metal growls pop up from Mercedes in songs like Already Dead, Forgive and Forget, I've Failed You, My Plague, etc.

They are more thrashy now, and while I love Oracle, it had a more dark melodic metal feel... that doesn't make it heavier. Also, I've seen them around 15-20 times in concert and I can absolutely guarantee that they are WAYYY heavier and better live now then they were circa 2001. Not even a contest. If you compare songs like Spit, Raven, Pain, Oracle, or Severed to more recent songs like Already Dead, I've Failed You, Flower of Flesh and Blood, Forgive and Forget, Ugly, The Truth- you can tell that the latter is heavier. The riffs chunkier, the vocals more sinister, and overall just better. Yes, they do have some songs that are more melodic and spunky than in the past, but I feel it has more to do with evolution and maturity than them getting "less metal".

Tara McLeod - class act guitarist all the way.  The blend of her influences in this band is SO OBVIOUS and really helps define their sound and direction as a metal band.  Choice of chords, guitar harmony work, and classy leads - the trade mark of a GREAT guitar player.  Rock it girl!

Kittie is no doubt one of the best and in my opinion one of the most underrated bands out right now.

Tara continually impresses me as a guitarist. It's relatively unfortunate she's chosen metalcore, as the genre has some natural restrictions as opposed to something like death metal where you can just balls-to-the-wall it, but regardless she manages to do a great job in whatever genre she chooses.

No, that's where you are wrong. Death metal growls are much lower than this. Just because they aren't a black metal band doesn't mean it isn't black metal shrieking, for Kittie is not death metal either.
