Kiss - Rockin' In The U.S.A. Lyrics

I'm flyin' in a 747, I'm passing by the pearly gates
And I'm comin' real close to Heaven
And my guitar just can't wait, it just can't wait

In France really had the chance, yeah, there was plenty romance
I've been to England too, there wasn't much to do
One thing I know is true, what I would rather do is

Rockin' in the U.S.A.
Nowhere else I'd rather stay
Rockin' and a-rollin', rockin' and a-rollin'
Rockin' in the U.S.A.

Germany was really neat, just wasn't much to eat
And Denmark was great, but I just can't wait, rockin' in the U.S.A.

Rockin' in the U.S.A. (rockin' in the U.S.A.)
Nowhere else I'd rather stay (rockin' in the U.S.A.)
Rockin' and a-rollin' (rockin' and rollin')
Rockin' and a-rollin' (rockin' and rollin')
Rockin' in the U.S.A.
Rockin' in the U.S.A. (rockin' in the U.S.A.)
Nowhere else I'd rather stay (rockin' in the U.S.A.)
Rockin' and a-rollin' (rockin' and rollin')
Rockin' and a-rollin' (rockin' and rollin')
Rockin' in the U.S.A.
Rockin' in the U.S.A. (rockin' in the U.S.A.)
Nowhere else I'd rather stay (rockin' in the U.S.A.)
Rockin' and a-rollin' (rockin' and rollin')
Rockin' and a-rollin' (rockin' and rollin')
Rockin' in the U.S.A.
Rockin' in the U.S.A. (rockin' in the U.S.A.)
Nowhere else I'd rather stay (rockin' in the U.S.A.)
Rockin' and a-rollin' (rockin' and rollin')
Rockin' and a-rollin' (rockin' and rollin')
Rockin' in the U.S.

  2. Russell Field

    Owwww yeahhhhhh!!!

  3. ralphyetmore

Once I got past the fact that Kiss is not the heavy band that their appearance suggests, they have some good tunes. This sounds like a Simmons tune, which has late era Beatles influences.

  4. drummerboy 76'

I love how bass player Gene Simmons lays down the vocals (& bass lines) for these American related and patriotic rock n roll songs. Gene was always patriotic about the USA and what is possible in this country. Being that he is an immigrant from Israel. God bless Gene Simmons, America, & KISS.

  5. 5Gamer 28 Zz618

Rockin in the USA yeaah baby yeaah KISS ROCKS !!!!

  9. Guitardiv2

Hi ! living in Denmark, I had not heard of Kiss before I saw a broadcast on TV called "Rock Heroes", it was sent sometime in the late 70's, this was exactly that number that hit the hell out of me :)

  10. NightCrawler775

    Lyrics?

  11. Juan Enrique Vera Arenas

    My wild side

  12. King Kor

Ted Nugent came along and blew this music into the garbage can

  13. drummerboy0626

    Merica'

  14. Drew s

There still good even in 2017

  15. The Ramones

I believe it was Robbin Ford or Rick Derringer that played on this track. I know for sure it was not Ace, and yes I asked Ace, in person back in 1995 at a KISS convention. It was also not Bob Kulick as he has said he didn't and it's on video. Get your KISStory facts correct before posting what you think is true (when it's not) ok.

    Bob Degenhart

Wrong. Get your facts straight pal.

    74 torino

    wrong is bob kulick

  16. Wolfgang Klein

I remember when I first listened to the studio songs on this album and thinking to myself "these lead riffs can't be Ace because they suck". To me Ace was KISS and always will be. Bob Kulick you suck!

  17. Glitter

The guitar is horrible obviously it's not ACE.

  18. tgguitarguy

Credits are wrong, Ace didn't play on this track. Out of all studio songs on this album, Ace only played on Rocket Ride, the rest was Bob Kulick

  19. Juan K Borges

    rock over the world.

    paul stanley-guitar-chorus
    gene simmons-vocal-bass
    peter criss-drum
    bob kulick-lead guitar

  20. NailgunDeath

    Doesn't sound like Ace.

    Blubbertree07 _

NailgunDeath it isn't him. That's why it doesn't sound as good as it could've been

  21. kepler240

I remember being in the 3rd grade and the teacher allowed each student to bring in an album and she would play one song off it.  This is what I had her play.  A friend of mine had her play Black Betty.  I wonder what the teacher thought about that.

  22. MonsterHuntressRoon

Hmmm...alot has been made about Ace's minimal involvement with the studio portions of this album but I have a theory here. My guess is that in Ace's own spaced out way he was storing up his energy for his solo album. There is a method to Ace's madness and not very many people can understand his logic but I'm sure it made perfect sense to Ace back then to just let Bob Kulick do all the work so he'd have the energy and juice for his solo album. Sounds like Ace was silently delegating work here to me by not really being all that interested in playing on anything but his song Rocket Ride, and the guys weren't even ware of it. Even blitzed out of his mind Ace was a pretty intelligent guy that knew what he was doing.

  23. Rando Gattagio

    Peter Criss on drums?

    DRUMMER

    Rando Gattagio Yes sir!

    74 torino

no not maybe 100% is peter

  24. thomas allen

MAN this whole album kicked ass.  Not one bad song

  25. TJD40U2B

Bob Kulick on all lead guitar studio tracks except Rocket Ride according to interview Bob did with Eddie Trunk

    Tyler Glynn

So did Gene and he confirmed it too.

  26. Grim Reaper 666

I love Kiss so much. They're in my top 5 with Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Judas Priest and Pantera.

    Angelica Smith

Kiss was and always be number one..... No shit you clowns!!

  27. scissors65

    bob kulick on lead guitar.

    scissors65

i got the info from an interview. so i checked wiki to see if i was right.

    Bob Degenhart

Scissors65 is correct. Bob Kulick played lead guitar on "All American Man", "Rockin' in the U.S.A." and "Larger Than Life". Google his interview with Eddie Trunk, where they discuss Bob's involvement with 'Alive II' in detail.

    The Ramones

    Nope. You are wrong.

    Bob Degenhart

    R. gmail Nope. We're not. Stop trolling.

  28. David Ledger

Sounds like I Can't Wait by Van Halen at the beginning.

    Lewis Carey

Its : Feel your love tonight" and yes i hear the similarities.

    Louis Grutell

Well...Simmons did pay for VH's first demo...

  29. Richard Wilson II

    ROCIN IN THE USA

  30. Chris Welch

lmao i wrote that two years ago? damn.Where did the time go lol

  31. RTHA300

Its ironic that Gene gives props to Germany, Japan and Denmark. Axis powers or Nazi collaborators, and even gives props to France. Yet he disses the only allied power (england) that helped rescue his people FROM Germany. This makes no sense.

  36. 6arcsn1sky

Wish that this song or "All American Man" was in Destroyer to make the album have ten tracks and to commemorate America's 200 years of independence.

    Man In A Pit

I think you must be right

  38. minecraftgrass

  39. EdwardJacobDiggory17

That is an awesome project, I wish we could do that my school. But I would probably be the only one bringing in something from KISS while all the other students brought in Justin Bieber or some shit XD

  40. Jack Daniels

@chriswelch1971 So you think that Paul isn't the best songwriter, well just listen to Paul's and Gene's soloalbums, compare them and hear the difference.

    Man In A Pit

Stanley’s album is sad and wet

  41. Jack Daniels

@chriswelch1971 I Agree that giving the catman and space-Ace look to Singer and Thayer isn't the best decision they made. It was a better option to give new characters to Singer and Thayer, but I think they didn't do that, because of commercial reasons. Kiss with the Catman and the Spaceman just attracts more audience to the concerts, it's their concept. And Kiss always was and always will be a commercial band, so deal with it and enjoy the music.

  42. Jack Daniels

You all so called Kiss fans are still hating Singer, Thayer, Vincent, Carr, Kulick and St. John. Well i've been a Kiss fan sinds I was six and they all contributed to the band in their own way. Their all no more loyal and bigger fans than these guys. And now tell me, who let Kiss alone in the late 90's to make bullshit crap covers like Firestarter, yes Gene Simmons. So check your facts before hating all those memorable members of the Kiss army.

  43. inkyblck

Whenever Paul comes in with back up vocals on any song, I get goosebumps ~ Between 1975 and 1978, nobody could touch KISS ... The greatest period for any band, ever ...

    Guitarburt

even so -- all during those years, they were much maligned by rock critics, and the musical public. The common perception was that the gimmick (the makeup, the merchandise, the marketing) was the thing and that their musicianship and musical worth wasn't worth paying attention to. They were the arena rock equivalent of bubble gum... on the level of the Osmonds, the Monkees... When Ace Frehley appeared on the cover of GUITAR PLAYER magazine, many readers complained and canceled their subscriptions. I think history (the "test of time") has proven otherwise. In 1990, Gene Simmons very graciously got up on our stage and played with my weekend cover band here in Binghamton NY. We had a great time playing oldies - apparently he was a big fan of Motown - Wilson Picket - Sam and Dave and so on.

    drummerboy 76'

74' as well! Peter Criss was so crispy and spectacular that year. You cannot forget KISS in 1974.

  44. kepler240

my favorite KISS song...in third grade, we were giving a job of bringing a song in from an album in for Friday. My friend chose Black Betty which blew everybody's 2nd grade mind (because of the cussing - damn thing gone wild). Mine was this song...and everybody in the class was like staring at the wall nodding their head to the beat...AWESOME!!! i still love it today..being 42 years old...or young............the album cover and the insert still blows my mind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  45. MordakeHead

According to Bob Kulick, he does 100 % of the rhythm and solo guitar here. Way to go Bob!

  46. Daniel Folino

    good stuff.
