Much as I like the Dave Clark 5 doing the original, this version is a lot of fun as well. Paying homage to a great song by the DC5...KISS did it right. It's all good.

This is terrible. I expected better from KISS, but they don't come close to the original by DC5. Total piece of shit, way too practiced.

That's subjective. The bottom line? There isn't much difference between the two. You can prefer one over the other, but they have, essentially, the same arrangement.

I dunno, they played hommage and well IMO and looked way better. Imagine seeing these guys doing this in DC5 time? The straights would be running for the hills!

Love this song. It was the first Kiss song I ever heard and to this day it still holds up after 40 years.

Take it from an older gent that was 10 when the original of this came out by a legendary British band called the Dave Clark 5 in 1965 or so. It's got liberal use of echo, which just makes it so badass. See if you like it....I'll bet you go away from that version thinking that this Kiss version is just flat-out "clunky-clumsy". Yeah...that's a good description. This version sounds like Kiss worked on this tune for an hour and then cut it in the studio. Very forgettable version.

The Dave Clark 5 version is much heavier considering it came out in '64. One of my favourites from the 60's and I bought it then too!

This will probably sound fine if you are unfamiliar with The Dave Clark Five original, but Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers did a far superior cover of this classic live in concert in 1983.

If you think one is weird for them to cover, they also did a cover of "Then He Kissed Me" by the Crystals on Love Gun.

My God this sucks. What a horribly choppy, uninspired version. I absolutely LOVE the original Dave Clark 5 version from '64-65. I have loved that since it came out then and I was 10. But this is just awful. It's  like Kiss didn't even try on this one. Seriously.

Gene's in the Dave Clark Five documentary. This cover wasn't mentioned, but Gene did emphasize the DC5's influence on KISS.

I never really liked the five new songs off of Alive II. Now that I listen to them again, especially in this time of year, I love them! My favourites are, however, "Anyway You Want It", "Rocket Ride" and "Rockin' In The USA". By the way, in my opinion, this song sounds similar to "Anyway You Want You Want It" bye Journey. Also, is this song referring to Dave Clark's D?

This song makes me feel emotional for some reason. I am not embarrassed to say it either. For some reason it makes me want to cry! Not because it's a masterpiece, just because it's so simple yet perfect. What a strange thing...

I never knew kiss covered this. Ive always known the dc5 version and i love it! They did a really great job though! i got more respect for them now.

KISS should do a Cover's CD like RUSH did. KISS has had a few cool covers over the years. I remember seeing them do The Who's "Won't get Fooled Again" on the ASYLUM tour and it was really good.

According to wikipedia, " Paul Stanley played all guitars on "Anyway You Want It" which was originally recorded by the Dave Clark Five in 1965."
