Dave was 18 in 1965 and Ray(22) Peter(23) Mick (22). Dave said it was difficult at times for him being 4 yrs younger as his musical tastes fashion et al were different than the older guys. He was very accurate when saying at a young age 4 years is massive age difference and he realised that.

I was 15 and Dave Davies picking hung on my wall. Yeah, I was THAT bad ass. Everyone else with their little crushes on the Beatles or the Dave Clark Five or even the Stones and I was totally into the Kinks. I am 70 and still bad ass haha! This is my favorite Kinks songs. And that riff? Jimmy Page, eat your heart out!

i discoverd this song when i bought a Kinks greatest hits album in the late sixties. not sure why this song hadn't recieved airplay on NYC radio stations. the Kinks had hits since 1964 in the US but not this one for some reason. at least not in NY.

There is so much good music from the 60's/70's. I think what happened is that the whole century's amazing music was accidentally condensed into 20 years. The Kink's songs are fantastic, surely it can;t have been this easy to knock out hit after hit like this!

One of the top songs of all time. Stumbled upon it way back in 1979 or so when I was walking to the store in Providence RI. There was some sort of fare or festival going on, and for like $1 you could pay and if you tossed three footballs through a hole in the cardboard cutout you could win a prize. I did it and picked some Kinks anthology album. I have long since lost that and forgotten the details but not this song
