I loved this from the old cassette tape. I bought it at a convenience store for .99 back in 1988. Great album, best .99 cents I might have ever spent!
Got it on Cassette as well back in '84. I was so psyched when I received 10 tapes from a penny from Columbia House. Come Dancing from the Kinks was one of them.
I had ilke four of those my frinds kept stealing them .i punched one guy im cause i caught we're still friemds to this day. Great music.

I've had a career as a merchant marine & new technology makes things a little easier but I was sailing before smart phones , etc. I heard this song in Singapore and I cried my eyes out.
The most underrated Kinks song ever. B-side which I was only aware of because it was originally added to the State Of Confusion cassette tape. Such a good B-side, it was added to several Kinks Best Ofs. Rest In Peace to the Electric Dwarf Jim Rodford.

I did the same thing , I had the LP in the 80s and it was on there, got the CD years later and it wasn't...
This song was not on my LP copy of State of Confusion, bought in the US at the time.
Downloaded off iTunes in Jan 2018. I had to enter "long distance the kinks" in the search field and it came up - this version - at least it sounds exactly like this.
