Kinks, The - Bald Headed Woman Lyrics

Well I don't want no bald headed woman
Gonna make me mean, yes, love, it make me mean
I don't want no bald headed woman
Gonna make me mean, yes, love, it make me mean

Well I don't want no sugar in my coffee
Gonna make me mean, yes, love, it make me mean
I don't want no sugar in my coffee
Gonna make me mean, oh, make me mean

Well I've been driving on bald headed mountain
I've done my time, done my time
I've been driving on a bald headed mountain
I've done my time, oh, done my time
Done my time, done my time, done my time

Well I don't want no sugar in my coffee
Gonna make me mean, yes, love, it make me mean
I don't want no sugar in my coffee
Gonna make me mean, oh, make me mean

I don't want no bald headed woman
Gonna make me mean, yes, love, it make me mean

Kinks, The Bald Headed Woman Comments
  1. Kate Richardson

I love this song and the end when ray davies gets mad

  2. David quaife

It was co written by Shel Talmy who also recorded it. The Who also did a cover of this

    total stranger

The song was an old traditional blues number that was in the public domain, so anybody could use it and re-write it, without paying royalties. Talmy took a co-writing credit and, consequently, probably pocketed a nice chunk of change from it. That kind of thing goes on all the time. Even so, it was something of a dog - and not the brightest spot on the Kinks debut LP - but they were all just learning the ropes, then, and feeling their way around a recording studio.

Gotta post the original. The Kinks maybe a great band but they reeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaly lack the emotion. Check it and yell with the boys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvEnkoSBPmY
