I really wish people would stop relating musicians to other musicians... just seriously shut up! Every musician has their own sound, melody, lyrics and compositions. Give credit where credit is deserved! This song is truly its own, hes speaking on levels many dont understand. Hes dying inside, hurt, and full of hate... he wants to be loved but knows the darkness inside wont allow it, "fucking the pain away" if you will. She is a fallen angel that wants to save him, but becasue of all the hurt inside of him, it wont allow him to be good. He is the demon she wants to love and because God threw her away, she needs him to love her becasue she wants to get back at god. He knows this and despite it all he cannot do it. Hes suffering to much, and for a moment he wants to pretend that he could save her... but if he doesnt belive in god, why would God belive in him. So forver he stays the devil that may cry. I'm not a religious man, at all actually but this song is amazing and so deep on so many integrated levels. I guess to truly understand this song, you have needed to feel some pain in your life before. Sorry, no other way to describe it.
