I loved her when I was a teen

Shame this wasn't a single. Along with "You Came", "European Soul" is one of my fave tracks from the album "Closer". A Hauntingly beautiful and melancholic-sounding track that suits Kim's vocals perfectly.

Kim Wilde can do wonders to covering a song- like "Alright", "To France", & "Sleeping Satellite" from Snapshots. I doubt I would have heard these songs otherwise. What she did with "Keep Me Hangin On" by making the song her own is another great example. Her collaboration with Nena for "Anytime Anyplace" is another gem of a song. She is just a great music artist who follows her own path.

"Close" was my first album ever. Now, after so many years, it touches my soul in a very special way.My aunt bought it for me when I was 10, maybe 11 years old. Ach the 80's - everything back then was so simple and pure for me. These are sweet memories.

Always loved the Piano break at 2.20 leading to the beautiful bridge.

Kim deserved to be bigger everywhere. In fact it's people like Madonna that should be the ignored, derided nobodies. Women have it so much easier today, but no woman to my mind (and there were enough great ones out there throughout Kim's time (which still goes on of curse) like Kim does. Women singers are all lousy now (them men pretty much the same) as music is in such a black hole of death, but, despite only the few brainy ones knowing it, Kim can't be beaten. People need to use their ears!

I love Sheena Easton. It's actually through her I discovered the glory that is Kim Wilde. I love them both. Both of them are underrated but Sheena had her big success in the states when I was growing up and other than two songs, I didn't know who Kim was. Kim deserved to be so much bigger than she was here. I listen to all her music all these years later and it's amazing.

great album full stop..still listen to it today,my wife 13 yrs younger than me loves,just shows yesteryears music was the best!,my fave tune on this album is stone,the backing music is used so many times in past and present dance tunes!!

Awesome song /as whole Close/ .i understand just a little bit /czech.rep./, but it's not problem at all ). good is bass guitar (?) and electric guitar solo at he end. and Kim of course. Thank's for this song )

as far as i know it wasn't released in the charts.which is a great shame as it would of done really well but instead they decided to go with other tracks from the album.
