I love early 80s eerie synth songs. Stuff like this, ultravox, early human league, Genesis mama and home by the sea, Duran Duran first album. Just something about the early 80s synths and weird low budget videos that i love.

The video is where Pat Benetar got it right and where Kim Carnes gets it wrong. Pat's "Love is a battlefield" video is epic while being dark and gritty. Kim's video is just violent and dark for its own sake. Incredible that Russell Mulcahy directed this. Still the bad video doesn't ruin the great song! Still glad it was posted anyway... it has its moments.

I don't care much for synth-pop/rock but this isn't bad. Better than Annie Lennox/Eurythmics' synth-pop stuff (the rockers were better.) Kim had some good AOR tracks in the early 80's.

such a great track. this clip was banned in the US? seriously? looks like some film clip producer's wet dream...no doubt recieved a massive budget from the label after Bette Davis Eyes success to throw at this song. this woulda cost a bundle to make in 1982 to shoot but damn i dont really think it worked out that great its such a random clip just a bunch of running and fighting and a horse in an alley and Kim not really looking happy, not a single smile and few clear shots of her singing it. clip is a miss...disappointing

There's so many artists from who only one song ever gets played on the radio. Always satisfying playing another one by them on here that I remember and had a liking for,and the radio's forgotten about. Invariably an interesting voyage for me.
