Killing Joke - Wardance Lyrics
The atmosphere's strange
Out on the town
Music for pleasure
It's not music no more
Music to dance to
This is music to march to
do a war dance
A war dance
Look at graffiti
Scrawled on the wall
You know the the reason
Outside the door
You got something
Trying to get out
do a war dance
A war dance
You've opened the pit
Honesty is sick
You try to be honest
Look what you get
The foods run short
And then the money talks
One way out
Your premonition is correct
A war dance

I LOVE THIS BAND
This is the best version of this song......
Fantastic
God this is still brilliant
mid 80s, ran in snow with this blasting in my ears... i ran better
Saw them live at Brady's (formerly Eric's) in Liverpool in the winter of 1980, just 6 feet away at ground level from the band. There was no raised stage - just a ringed-off area where the band performed in front of a few hundred people. An unforgettable experience - their power, raw energy and deep darkness was something different from all that had gone before and deliciously disturbing.
PLAY LOUD!!!!
THE WALNUTS!! THE WALNUTS!!
Great Band and great people! Had an awesome weekend with them! Saw them play in Philly at the East Side Club, we got to talking and was asked if I'd like to go with them on the tour bus to watch them play in D.C. the following night, which was Sunday. Of course I wanted to go! I was worried about making it to work Monday morning on time and they reassured me we would make it back and not to worry,"Let's go have fun!" They were all great and I had a blast! And it wasn't a "groupie" thing. In fact, they said it was refreshing to meet someone, a girl, that they could laygh and talk with! If there was any sex involved...well...BONUS!! Thanks for some bad ass memories!
Primal and beautiful. Great stomping music. Have it cunts.

What a fantastic song. Brutal.
Fuck yeah!
More relevant today than ever.
I loved Killing Joke in college!
This song really was "music to dance to" real floor filler.
The perfect antidote to the Third Revolution in our midst.....
Your premonition is correct.

first time i,ve seen them Paradiso Amsterdam, more tan 30 years ago, by now i,m still addicted
It's now the end of 2012, and this was great music when it was released 30 years ago as it is now.
Killing Joke's debut album is among the most important ones released in 1980.
lyonslaforet As well with The Talking Heads' album Remain in Light.
Cheers mate. There's a choice when we face adversity. Survival or victimhood. I NEVER go for the second choice. Greetings from South Eastern Australia.
Peace.
Wow, this is real great stuff.
war dance, requiem, and follow the leaders are the best.I found a home-recorded cassette, played it , and realized that I must have a greatest hits version, I Love it!
Right on. You too. Peace.
John Reed LOVED this song...(Texas Tech in '82)
Killing Joke was recommended to me as being "good" back in the Eighties but, like Siouxsie Sioux similarly recommended, I only caught up with them by way of review of music of the era of my youth and a general increase of awareness of that which underlies such and much more, to my pleasant surprise.
Top Gloucestershire
Saw them in Philadelphia, maybe after the second album, what a show..still love 'em.
Best version ever! The first time I hear this song I thought it was made in the late 90s. KJ was really ahead of their musical time.
THANK YOU for posting this
@takingyourtime Same here. I was 19 when I saw them on TOTP doing Millennium :D Was hooked from that moment on and got into their back catalog from then. It is funny to note that the NME's review of Pandemonium at the time gave it a panning, and said that it would never inspire a new fanbase... How wrong they were!
god I was looking for this version on youtube for a while, very happy to find someone put it up!
Excellent.I very rarely hear the superior album version.
