Killing Joke - Pole Shift Lyrics

It doesn't really matter is the south turns north
Or the stars above stop their course
If then thousand coastal cities are taken by the wave, or not
The outcomes are still the same (for all of us now!)
Riddles in stone - great cycles of time
Forgotten, ignore - the ancient paradigm
A polarization of values happening
Opposing camps define themselves and pull apart

Night turns to day, darkness to light
A doorway opens to quantum sight
A world age shift, a converging sun
A field of energy reversal has begun
Suddenly it hit! - Pole shift

Now the pendulum has swung the other way
Pulling us out of our ingrained habits
The death of the old world
Slashing open the womb that held us all
So comfortably for so long
Calling on all of us to restore the biosphere
Towards a partnership of co-creation
In a relationship of resonance
Hand in hand we march into the unknown

Where the taboos of today are tomorrow's delights
Our values - inverted (so wrong it's right)
Sex morality imposition - all swept away
In one great orgasm - by the light of day
Suddenly it hit! - Pole shift

Communion with the stars - decode our DNA
Marvel at the mysteries of quantum immortality
Children of Elias - come!
Into a fifth world and a sixth sun
Yes, into a fifth world and a sixth sun
Suddenly it hit! - Pole shift

I was invented thru a friend to a intimate Pre-Release listening Party held by Jaz in a small Basement Club in Prague, it was very special to listen to it for the first time ever with a hand selected bunch of gatherers and the Man himself...I remember to this day, that i turned my head around every time a new track started to see what jaz was doing...he was just raving away..it was so great. Geordie later attendet the party too,Youth was expected too but does`nt turned up which upset Jaz..but it was a fantastic evening with fantastic people...great memories everytime I play this album- which of course is fantastic!

  8. B.... ....

    Typo- not lightbringer..... Just light.
Researched the word and has reference to occult reference.......I'm for the light👍☀️🌊🌾

  16. A.... ....

Top band, top track and album 😉

  17. A.... S....

What a way to start an album. And btw, how in the hell can a band that's been around as long as KJ continue getting better? This just doesn't happen. An aside....played the living shit out of this record during road trip from Springfield, Mo. to Portland, Or. and back. Perfect driving music.

    A.... S....

    +Alex Stone
KJ are fine wine my friend.

    A.... S....

Alex Stone on the ‘pandemonium ‘ site , there’s a poor soul whom didn’t realise KJ were “still at it “ -having lost touch in mid 80s’ .....he intended to catch up ! He is in for a few happy hours for a start. Best wishes from west England -where driving is ok only when every other bugger is in bed 😼

    A.... S....

It's the Sound of the Guitar, bro ... reaches down very deep and pulls ...

    A.... S....

Alex Stone, the night after I got this CD I was sitting just below the edge of a drainage ditch at Mount Pleasant Airfield, Falkland Islands. Bottle of Cap'n Morgan's Spicey in one hand, Cohiba Lancero in the other. CD Walkman up to 11. Hardly any light pollution, about an okta of Stratocumulus, and the Egyptian Goddess Nut spread above me in all her glory.

  20. F.... N....

No! Bad Killing Joke! *BAD!* We all know that modern releases from classic bands aren't supposed to be this good. >:(
_(Yes, we're all looking at you, Pink Floyd's "Endless River")_

    F.... N....

    shut up! XD

  21. d.... ....

I love his voice. Love it.

  22. P.... ....

Eliza Crunch- perhaps try cleaning the wax out of yer ears.

  23. C.... A....

    Superb ...

  24. J.... K....

Pole Shift - The title suggests a shift of the rulling class, from then on a Polish-man will be above, an Englishman underneath. The Isles are ours! :)

    J.... K....

Delusion can be very endearing to the right sort of cunt

    J.... K....

Your country has been walked over by virtually every nation in Europe. Small wonder you came here to hide from the next onslaught. Lol.

  25. J.... E....

    Amazing song.

  26. L.... ....

I like when KJ flirt with metal!
    amazing band!

    L.... ....

    Flirt ? Bang, I'd say !

  27. p.... ....

Long live the new world order.

  28. z.... ....

They still make music that suggests that they are on the leading edge of something extraordinary, something that you can't quite put your finger on but it's definitely there, whatever it is.

    z.... ....

    they just ruleeeee

KILLING JOKE PLAYS IN ANTWERP MONDAY 18th OF MARCH 2013.

  30. g.... ....

    right, you're right

  31. D.... ....

    I bought it.

    Twice.

  32. D.... C....

    A scream from within..

  33. p.... ....

For me still the best musical event of the year was the release of MMXXII. And what a way to commence an album with this track, ye gods. The Flame doth burn brighter than ever. "it doesn't really matter, if the south turns north, or the stars above stop in their course" this album exists.

    p.... ....

    Grandissimi Killing Joke!

  34. p.... ....

It was just a rise in conciousness, for those switched on you have been upgraded, for those not ,keep chewing the grass. This music is part of that rise.

  35. S.... ....

I bought them all.But it is a good thing to have this available free to young shitheads ..maybe they will get infected by this great music ...otherwise they would never hear this....

  36. z.... ....

Love like blood got me into this band years ago in the 80s, and theyre still producing classic songs now, and still retaining the KJ style. What a band!!!!!!!

  37. A.... F....

Kind of reminds me of NIN's In This Twilight. That said, that's at least partly because Trent Reznor owes a great debt to Killing Joke in terms of sound.

  38. P.... P....

Who's bitching about the uploads? This was how I realized one of my favorite bands as a kid was still around and still making amazing music. Enough so that I'm buying copies for my friends too ;P

  39. P.... P....

Buying a copy for myself and gifting a few others. Hard to imagine how excellent these guys keep playing..

  40. J.... ....

    What a frickin' magnificent track!!

  41. l.... ....

Damn...I just love this band. MMXII is another great KJ release.

  42. N.... H....

Fuck yeah, this is a band to support.

  43. 0.... ....

You nailed it, that's why I just bought their last two discs, and a t-shirt at the music store(yes, they still exist, we have a Rasputin) to support them...

  44. S.... ....

Tak .. Dziadek grunge. KJ is like AJ ( Alien Jourgensen ) for industrial

  45. M.... P....

najbardziej niedoceniony zespół na świecie. Gdyby nie było KJ, nie byłoby Nirvany, grunge'u i industrialu numetalu w obecnej formie.

  46. P.... C....

had to buy it, thanks jaz and co

  47. S.... ....

Another masterwork on the front edge of humanity.

  48. a.... ....

    zombiepizza88, hail ye!

  49. C.... N....

pre-ordered when I saw them in March, and had since day of release like many others..........this is a tribute, not exploitation

  50. p.... ....

Near 9 minutes of pure other worldliness, would say it's the best on the album, but it's just one of many. There is no one else like em, i listen in awe and wonder.

  51. S.... ....

See them friday ! Can't wait ! KJ is so brilliant, true & darkly beautiful !

  52. P.... O....

    awesome !

  53. P.... ....

I like the tempo changes too. My favorite band.

  54. j.... ....

If a band's music is popular enough to be "stolen" then it is doubtful they would fail because of it. Since you say most bands fail due to this, I'm sure you could provide the names of a few notable acts?

  55. D.... d....

why buy it if you can download it for free

  56. s.... ....

My copy was ordered 20min ago on amazon. Ive been a fan since '91. the 2 albums in '03 and '06 didn't do IT for me. They really reassured my faith with absolute dissent(brilliant fuckin album!!!) and so far i like most of what i hear of MMXII.

Unlike rest of the tracks where i hear similarities to older songs which is not a bad thing, mind u,this one sounds very fresh and nothing like the past.

  57. b.... ....

i paid £11.99 for mine, and it's worth a]every penny, they are the best

  58. w.... ....

Most musicians get ripped off by the record companies as well.

  59. S.... ....

Im sure the bands give a shit.. and to be honest, a 'bit' of extra profit is a horrible understatement. most bands cannot even continue because so many people steal their music, let alone make any sort of profit after touring and selling records. it doesn't matter if you think a band has enough money or not, buy their music if you think it is good. the only ones that won't feel the pinch are acts such as lady gaga, kanye west and all that bollocks

  60. d.... ....

This totally sampeled Vangelis from the Blade Runner sound track

  61. M.... W....

Yeah, an interesting and good old friend now. He's still around, handed care of the church back to the owners!!! A true individual and free spirit!! We may well have met at some point...

  62. B.... ....

I'm going to see them tonight! Can't wait ...

  63. B.... ....

Firewolf! There's a man I've not seen in a very long time, I used to know him when he was squatting with all those big dogs in an empty church near Hampstead Heath. 'Lecky Ballroom on Friday nights, the Catacombs on Saturday.

  64. M.... W....

I was 15 when i first saw killing joke in 1980, when Firewolf still blew fire with them. I got to know them around the time Jaz went to Iceland without notice...check the TOTPS where they do Empire Song in 82. Hung out with them in The Grove and ended up in me own band, they did inspire me, and I bought Youth's original Rickenbaker off him for £200, then fell out with Raven over another bass a year later....aahh the memories. With Paul back and Youth's production ability.... back on form!!

  65. N.... ....

Does anybody know how to translate morse code? I may be wrong here but it sounds a bit like some dots and dashes bleeping during the quiet bits of Pole Shift. I remember The Stranglers doing it on "Enough Time" (1978) which apparently spelt out 'Mother Earth - we are fucked.' I'd be surprised, given the subject matter of Pole Shift (assuming the bleeps are indeed morse code) if the message contained wasn't something along the same lines!

  66. e.... c....

I just don't see the uniqueness in sound

  67. A.... ....

Jaz' voice sounds the best that it has in ages on this,

    Great stuff!

  68. M.... A....

you aren't kidding about Seeing Red. unbelievable.

  69. L.... B....

...Jaz was in his black mechanic dress but without the corpse paint on the face, and while singing, he performed some dance of the dead (or so it seems to me) with spastic movements of hand and feet. Very entertaining show, they played tracks from their last albums of the 2000's but also from their very first ones. Unfortunately, they played for only 1.5 hours, because of the two preceding opening acts.

  70. L.... B....

I saw them on stage yesterday in Paris (at the La Cigale theater avenue). There were two opening acts that were pretty forgettable, but after an intro melting a Vangelis theme with an excerpt of a ritual from 'Eyes wide shut', the mighty Killing Joke started their show...

  71. B.... ....

Thankyou Zombiepizza88, if hadn't posted these I would still be thinking KJ called it quits after losing Raven (RIP! I'll bring the vodka next time).
No record stores where I live stock and KJ at all so this the only way I can find out they have a new album.
You helped them sell one more CD.

  72. B.... ....

The big difference I'm hearing on this album is the extra bottom end. Youth is putting his producing skills to good work.
For my money they'll never beat Revelations or the 2nd KJ album. Tracks like Asteroid or Seeing Red still blow my mind.
Please come to the US KJ!
    Just one last fix, please!

  73. M.... G....

This is totally one of their best intros for an album, MMXII is truly something to behold, it really
needs repeated listens to get more into it.

  74. J.... ....

I will be buying this album next week from my local record store......he will know what I want as soon as I walk the through the door... Hello again Mr Killing Joke fan!

  75. a.... ....

"Everything's free" way of thinking = everybody walks in line.

  76. a.... ....

"Everything's free" way of thinking = death of alternative behaviour.

  77. a.... ....

"Everything's free" way of thinking = individualism.

  78. S.... ....

When you do it the illegal way, obviously. This album will be on Spotify shortly, so go that way and support that band at the same time.

  79. s.... ....

    I fucking love this.

  80. C.... S....

Buy this album! who gives a shit if most other bands lose out on a bit of extra profit, Killing Joke deserve the support straight up

  81. T.... L....

I agree with HonourtheFire, personally. I'll be buying this first thing Monday morning, same as I've bought every other album they've done.

  82. H.... ....

Ok, we've all got Killing Joke's new album for free but what about them? What about the effort they put into this recording? Killing Joke should be supported not exploited. They give and give. They survived Raven's death. They are still producing classic music.

  83. P.... ....

    Fantastic song!

  84. R.... A....

    is it up?

  85. Z.... ....

    ofcourse

  86. s.... ....

Shh! Mentioning free access to music stirs up corporate vampires!

  87. R.... A....

i like it when it goes heavy, one more song and thts trance, can you upload it?

  88. Z.... ....

Nice lol Pole Shift is prob my least favorite from the album.
