Killing Joke - Glitch Lyrics

Glitch, get ready for the glitch

Cities on blackout
Satellites are knocked out
I-phones, laptops, it's one big belly flop
Servers, TV, alarms and security
And everything's gone in seconds

Cars are all crashing, planes are all grounded
Everyone knows it's over
Borders on lock down, everything's on shut down, Everyone knows it's over

The solar storms have come and chaos rules outside
The freezer's broke, the food is off, the GPS has died

Communications have all gone down and the world is flying blind
Everyone's at boiling point (and no-one's got the ice)

Glitch, get ready for the glitch

Where's my light, my water, my flight across the pond?
Where's my summer holiday - what the hell's gone wrong?
The economy is doomed, infrastructure ruined
Everyone knows it's over
It's an aberration, they're working on the back-up
Everyone knows it's over
It's an aberration, it's just a minor hiccup
But everyone know it's over

The solar storms have come and chaos rules outside
The freezer's broke, the food is off, the GPS has died

Communications have all gone down and the world is flying blind
Everyone's at boiling point (and no-one's got the ice)

Glitch, get ready for the glitch

Cities on blackout

  11. g.... n....

    g.... n....

  12. d.... r....

    d.... r....

    Ministry sounds like KJ, dude.....

  13. K.... J....

    Cracking album

  14. W.... o....

damn, best song i've heard for a long time

  15. J.... D....

heavy mid tempo killing joke big paul back on drums right ime off for a rip on my kit mick reed 1919

  16. T.... L....

This album is undeniable proof that the old guard STILL hold the reigns to greatness. I just can't believe how heavy this album gets. This track is so stomping.

  17. t.... ....

I never could wrap my head around the printed lyrics stating "the food is off".. never made sense. I always thought it was "the foods are rot" or "the foods have rot", which seemed much more plausible. I feel like there are errors in the printed lyrics at times.

    t.... ....

tester123532456 It's a dialect thing sure, if a food item has "gone off" that means it's rotten basically.

  18. J.... C....

I remember a smug twentysomething DJ, back when "Millennium" came out, saying the song was "Proof old guys can still rock." Jaz was, what, 35 at the time? In any case, a full two decades later, he's still rockin'...

    J.... C....

35 was "old" to that d-bag DJ?

    J.... C....

    Evidently.

    J.... C....

I totally agree Jaz, I mean Jimmy

  19. S.... F....

And one be aware of the presence of Artificial Intelligence on the internet, and the use to which incarnate humans have put the logical processing capabilities made available to them of the gestalt, "wizard", programming thereof, by way of murder group control and direction, both in the real and virtual worlds, and how all logic can be made to run in circles, per Godel's Theorem, one begins to see just how this egregore processing of the modern day may well go to demonstrate, if not prove, just how and why one need "not kill within one's own haloes", if one is to succeed at all well by way of said systemologies of murder, an sub-theorem on the way to demonstrating how, hoist by its own petard, the logic of murder leads to no more murder groups (except by way of response to stupid, small minded, peoples, which may well demand ex temporae, ad hoc, arrangements).

  20. z.... ....

Someone soon enough will find a way of playing this music so loud, to the point where the whole world will hear it and then Earth will be torn in half.

  21. s.... ....

    holy crap it is

  22. S.... R....

I agree mate and well spotted, as for sennikram, what a miserable fucker.

  23. p.... ....

    G - L - I - T - C - H

  24. R.... L....

    kings & Queens...............................

  25. T.... ....

    my throat hurts!

  26. B.... ....

    Awooga!

  27. s.... ....

    Sniff my cheese

  28. B.... ....

How is it an insult? It's a banging tune who's first verse just happens to have more than a passing resemblence to the F&H tune. Humourless wanker.
    xx

  29. r.... ....

    Pretty fucking glorious.

  30. B.... ....

The best song on the best album by the best band this year.

  31. s.... ....

everyones at boiling point but no ones got the ice!

  32. M.... S....

    great song ....

  33. j.... ....

Every time I try to hide the churning of my guts inside, everybody failed to heed the GLIIIITCH!

Wish I didn't keep hearing that in my head, but still a great song/album.

  34. b.... e....

this is the most (whisper it) 'industrial-sounding' trax off the new lp (that ive heard)..but then again ive just noticed the rest!'rapture' seems to capture the classic k.j. sound for mine. not what im into nowadays so much, but im happy to see the old guard more-than keeping up with the young punx! props.

  35. P.... P....

    very good

  36. B.... ....

Intravenous intro, too. Still, that's no bad thing - it was one of the stand-out tracks on Extremities.

All in all, this is probably the best thing they've released since Extremities. And they've not released a bad album since then, unlike the ones that went before Extremities.

  37. A.... B....

    Intravenous bridge, we meet again.

  38. f.... s....

not a great artwork but great tracks

  39. S.... R....

It's all put in to mean something that they're singing about :-)

  40. f.... ....

    que temazooooo!!!

  41. m.... ....

    yeah, awfully fuckin good

  42. r.... ....

This is sort of a new interpretation of "Intravenous" – one more similarity to extremities. I love this!

  43. M.... M....

    This album art is awful.

  44. S.... ....

Hands down, the best track on this album. New Uprising comes up a close second, though.

  45. A.... A....

Interesting referral towards those songs...I agree...and well, KJ always has an enigma...Dali of Rock whether they like it or want it or not...for me...I love this regurgitation of extremities...punking it out...finally back to form...welcome gatherer!

  46. B.... ....

Haha I was sitting at work today listening to this tune and wracking my brain trying to remember what it reminded me of. That's exactly it!

  47. S.... M....

    Worst verse they've ever written.

  48. M.... ....

I actually liked the artwork on Absolute Dissent.

  49. J.... ....

Why all the comments about the artwork on this album? When Absolute Dissent came out nobody mentioned the album art!

  50. g.... ....

It's not always about songs, but about a musical concept...a theme doesn't necessary need to be relegated to one single song; it's like a song that will never end...I like it

  51. M.... ....

Gotta admit, the chorus on this song sounds almost exactly like the chorus on "Intravenous" off of "Extremities", but otherwise, this song kicks ass! I'm not complaining at all!

  52. E.... L....

    Top Lyrics:

    # We’ve got some half-price cracked ice
And miles and miles of carpet tiles,
TVs, deep freeze, and David Bowie LPs,
Ball games, gold chains, whassa-names, and at a push,
Some Trevor Francis track suits from a mush in Shepherds Bush,
Bush, bush, bush, bush, bush, bush, bush! #

I thought the verse sounded familiar ;-)

  53. J.... ....

Fuck the packaging it's what's inside that counts! The Joke have delivered again.

  54. N.... ....

Not really bothered about the artwork, just the music for me. I assume that the rising riff previously heard on "Kings and Queens" (nearly), "Intravenous" and "Magestic" must have some significant meaning for the band to warrant its multiple use since first aired 27 years ago. I'd love to know what it is!

  55. H.... ....

Does have reminiscence of Intravenous in the chorus but any Killing Joke fan would have to agree this album is Killing Joke in fine form.

  56. P.... ....

Love this song! One of the best on the album.

  57. J.... G....

    Killing Joke rockin' good!!!

  58. I.... B....

    Hell yeah!

  59. U.... ....

    Majestic from the start
