Killing Joke - Fema Camp Lyrics

It's a time of unrest and your rights are suspended
There's a list going round (and it's likely you are on it)
The names on the blue list are picked up later
And the red list goes to the incinerator

We're never going to end up in the furnace of a FEMA camp
Burning in the furnace, furnace of a FEMA camp
FEMA camp

There's an Amtrak rail leading to the siding
Where a turnstile waits for all those disembarking
Blue zone, red zone - humanity fades
So I'm going to join up with the renegades

We're never going to end up in the furnace of a FEMA camp
Burning in the furnace, furnace of a FEMA camp
FEMA camp

We're never going to end up in the furnace of a FEMA camp
Burning in the furnace, furnace of a FEMA camp
FEMA camp
FEMA camp

Een van de betere nummers op dit album. De verhaallijn is wat simpel, maar het thema en de melodie staan als een huis..!

You hit the nail on the head man.

  24. g.... p....

not just a band...allways a mirror of our civilization. they show us, how dumb we are. just lemminge, walking walking and jumping down the cliff with a smile on our faces.

  25. 0.... ....

    True that!

  26. R.... ....

i agree - they need to go back to what made them so good.. this is just too metalized.. it's ok i guess, but i won't listen to it like i'll listen to their old stuff. I guess it happens to all bands though.. .jaz's voice is too throaty also!

  27. k.... k....

THIS IS AWESOME AND I'VE LOVED THIS BAND FOR OVER 30 YEARS !!! so there.....

  28. k.... ....

Hello Paul. 1st of all thank for your comments because I know we both care about Killing Joke , but for me it's not the age's of Killing Joke that is the problem , for me it is the attitude of playing "safe "to the Metal audience when I know they could be much much better. It is true that Joke would still be an impressive band but like Jaz Coleman admired Herbert Von Karajan I want him to have Karajan's convictiion till he dies! I have met Jaz on a few occasions a lovely bloke . He "spoilt me"!

  29. P.... B....

Give them a break I think they are rock'n pretty dam hard for guys in their 50's ... I think this is better then anything out today... they are just getting older..

  30. F.... ....

This song came on randomly on my player and at first I thought it was Fear Factory. Then I heard him raise his voice at 1:38 and I was like: "oh, that's Jazz!" lol

  31. B.... J....

KJ have been important band in my life since i was 14 (around 1982) was lucky enough to catch up on all their stuff straight away as band was around 4 years old then! met 'em when i was 16, such cool guys! miss out on them at your own peril! they're still the same people now and they were then and still do kick ass songs and gigs! Jon the Bass (2000DS.AD)

  32. a.... ....

support killing joke cause theyre the only band worth supporting

  33. f.... ....

Buy Merch, Buy tix, support artists.

  34. k.... ....

ok we just have to agree to disagree on this , the killing joke cds I outed at Flash Back 4 weeks ago are ALL still there & they are selling them cheap...I just not prepared to put with a rancid beefburger when I once had the finest steak

  35. B.... ....

I still don't see how it's metal. Yes it's got loud guitars and more aggressive/shouty vocals (though not compared to the 2003 and Hosannas records) but it's still very clearly Killing Joke. Geordie's guitar is unmistakeable and nobody else sounds like him. Fair enough some bands are comfortable sticking within 1 style/sound (e.g. Status Quo, Motorhead, AC/DC) etc but KJ have tried a lot of different sounds. One think I would say though is that the slick, modern production may sterilise it a bit

  36. k.... ....

Please remember with the exception of Jaz , Joke were never a band who jump & down on stage & in 2008 they did play the 1st 2 albums back to back , that's what annoys me about them , this style of music is purely a commercial move to acquire a Metal audience & yes they have got bigger because of it. Supporting the the Cult is unforgiveable

  37. B.... ....

The guys are in their 50s now. They're not going to be exactly the same people they were 30+ years ago. Whilst they're obviously heavier now I can't really say they sound much like most modern "metal" bands. Whilst some of the newer stuff has an obvious nod to the past (Trance for instance) I think that if they purposefully tried to do a record like they did in their youth (I doubt you're a fan but another example would be Metallica's Death Magnetic) then it would simply come off as pastiche.

  38. k.... ....

Because like Amir Khans defeat the other day , they have lost their individual edge(punch drunk) & poxy as it may seem I mourn the loss of a great band , the annoying thing is I reckon they could pull it out the bag. Tell me in all honesty if you had the choice to hear Joke with the original Jaz demented curious child vocals,Geordies laceration SG sound (pre 82) Youths Rickenbaker Clanky /funk bass & Big Paul Disco meets Paul Cook Drums or the Machine Head/Slipknot/Slayer/Dreadlock Beard shit

  39. B.... ....

Why do you need to comment on pretty much ever KJ vid on here which isn't from the late 70's/80s? Fair enough if you don't like their latter day material but do you really need to keep going on about it? The early punkish stuff was brilliant but they moved on from that and tried their hand at new styles. Bit unfair moaning because they tried to evolve.

  40. A.... ....

    Yes..fucking

  41. k.... ....

Anyone want the Killing Joke albums from 1994 to 2010 as well as 1000 Suns & Outside the Gate nice & cheap I got rid of my cds at Flashback Records Crouch End. I exchanged them for some 70s Miles Davis albums & i'm delighted. IMHO Joke's best stuff was 1979 to 1985 & Extremities , then they became a stinky metal band who are happy to support the Cult & Mission

  42. T.... ....

on and off KJ have been a part of my life for 30 yrs...even though they can be a bunch of twats, they'd be the first to agree LOL...they have created something very special. Every album has at least one classic but this one is up there with the first album. All hail the fire, as ole Firewolf would say. Great track, great album. In 82 when Jaz shot off to Iceland it was hard to believe the band could carry on. 2012 and look what's occurrin'...brilliant!

  43. c.... ....

simply blessed to have this band in our lives

  44. p.... ....

    Right on there brother.

  45. P.... O....

    Interesting¡

  46. j.... l....

    sorry,i,m a poor man

  47. A.... ....

What are you talking about? They already are...

  48. P.... ....

Just ordered this off of Amazon after unsuccessfully searching half the friggin' record stores in the city. These guys are the Pink Floyd of post-punk.

  49. N.... ....

Right exactly in one, HonourtheFire! Buy the damn thing. Can't fault this new song either. That's what certain governments do when they have more citizens than they know what to do with after a natural disaster. Right? Put 'em in a FEMA camp. Doesn't mean they'll (we'll) ever come out of it. Thanks also to Zombiepizza for putting this up. Destructo riff, fine Jaz vocal.

  50. o.... a....

    best track on the album

  51. D.... ....

I totally agree. I was at one of their gigs less than a week ago and, even though I know their stuff pretty well,I was surprised by the energy and the powerful emotions they're still able to generate on stage. I want to support them and I'll buy this last album, firstly because I'm a fan and secondly because it sounds freakin' cool. All my respect to Coleman & Co.,still making great music and being faithful to their own ideas after many years.

  52. K.... ....

Album bought! Ticket for their gig bought! Long live that awesome band, which always has given fair insights on the worse aspects of our decadent western society. Please Jaz, keep on learning us how to ride the Ezekiel Chariot on the path of the Ma'at Aeon.

    Long live Killing Joke!

  53. m.... ....

    effin sweet.

  54. b.... ....

plays a huge part in the sales, or how you perceive the album ?

  55. A.... R....

I disagree I think the artwork plays a huge role in the album, even if it's subconscious. I also absolutely adore this album's artwork. its spot on

  56. S.... ....

What a beautifully intense retro-visit to early Sabbath metal!

  57. B.... ....

Not to worry, I've bought every Joke album since I discovered them back in '83. OF COURSE i'm going to buy this one!
So glad to hear the lads are still hard at it, there's no substitute for Jazz's voice or Geordie's riffs. Christ! the bass sounds unreal on this track.
    - Honoring the fire in the US

  58. b.... ....

who gives a fuck about the artwork on the album covers ?, besides yourself !, by the way i think the artwork is simplistic but effective, like some of those old "classic" paintings, look into it and you may see what they are trying to relay, great music.

  59. T.... B....

In a large punk/heavy-scene in Finland, I have not met ONE single person who would have disliked this album. Everyone seem to love this, from Ramones fans to Napalm Death fans. Killing Joke´s previous LP was already good enough, and now they made even a better one. I for one am definitely going to buy the whole album.

  60. M.... M....

    Conspirations and stuff. Freaking cool!

  61. s.... ....

Gonna buy it but its not the best in my opinion .pandemonium takes some beating.

  62. D.... C....

almost like a reprise to "Pandemonium." Awesome stuff.

  63. o.... a....

The best song of the album

  64. D.... L....

    Best band ever.

  65. t.... ....

cant wait to BUY this album, couldn't BUY it this morning in Canada and been waiting a long time for this!!!. Thanks for the upload at least i can get a taste. Long live KILLING JOKE!!!

  66. t.... ....

wonder why it's "Fema Camp" and not "FEMA Camp"

  67. R.... B....

This album is great, but compared to the CD version, listening to this as mp3s or on youtube is like listening with the speakers packed up inside a cardboard box. 'Fire from Heaven' guitar sound castrated because high end is cut off by mp3 format, and where is that huge subsonic bass heard on the CD? Definitely need to buy this on CD It's not about having the artwork. It's about having the sound..

  68. R.... A....

your right! btw im still buying there new album,

  69. H.... ....

Killing Joke fans should buy this album. This is fucking classic Killing Joke. If everyone downloads their stuff for free & doesn't support Killing Joke's effort they may disappear. These guys deserve to be making a fucking good living out of their music. I've been a Killing Joke fan since the start. They're still around and selling out venues. This album is fucking right on it Killing Joke.

  70. s.... ....

I hope they announce a release stateside - happy to hear the good work till they do!

  71. R.... A....

Upload pole shift mate, yours have better quality, so i can down load it.
