I had no idea this was Kenny Rogers when I heard the song.  I was a baby when this tune came out, but I really like it.  KR  comes across as a nice guy as well.

Kenny absolutely rocks it here. The drummer kicks some serious ass also. There are two or three different versions he recorded out there - in my opinion this is by far the best. Crank it.

When I heard it while I was in Vietnam one night the DJ came on after the song and said, "Ya I think its my turntable,, what great song!".. Don't know why I remember something like that 46 years ago!

Did you know that starting "drums beating" is actually a real heart beating?  Rogers needed to play the track backward to keep the beating right with the song...

Gee! Maybe I have a misprinted Rogers 45. Kidding aside, all I can go by is what is printed on the label. Also there is no mention of First Edition. I have a scan of the label on my channel (joe B) under My Slideshow. Had to increase contrast and brightness to read the label.

Nope, the 1970 First Edition album was even called 'Something's Burning'. The single by the same name hit #11 in the US and #8 in the UK in the year 1970.
